Happy Friday!!!
Here's what's going on with me...

Current Running Situation: I was starting to get some pain in my right heel so I am easing up on the running right now (as in I haven't run in 4 days) so that I don't get plantar fasciitis! I've also been getting ART at my chiro to help speed up the process of the heel pain going away. In the meantime, I'm lifting and using the arc trainer.

Current Sleeping Situation: Not great. This week, I had one of the worst nights ever where I only slept for 50 minutes. 50 FREAKING MINUTES!!!!!!!!! I felt sick the whole next day.

Current guilty pleasure: I bought a shirt I don't need. Thanks, Mom!!! Find it, and similar shirts, at runpa.org!

Current drink: Watermelon seltzer water, white sangria, and a shot of vodka. It is so refreshing! What should I call it?

Current favorite TV show: Survivor is over and Big Brother doesn't start for several more weeks so I'm out of television shows. I've been watching John Oliver on Youtube and of course Kristina's vlogs!

Current triumph: I really can't think of anything I feel triumphant about! Ummmm... I have been doing some soul searching as of late. Lots and lots of self therapy! Real therapy helps, but so does all the thinking I do on my alone time.

Current indulgence: I got myself chocolate covered coffee beans. Yummmm!

Current food: Pad Thai! I've been going to the Bon Bon Cafe a lot. For $7.95 you get a huge portion of spicy shrimp pad thai with enough leftover for a second meal the next day.

Current excitement: 5 more days of work until SUMMER!!!!

Currently listening to: Right now, I am literally listening to my cat cry because he's "hungry".

Currently needing: Some new ideas for meals to make for myself. Don't worry, I'm still eating quiche but I think I need to change it up...

Currently thankful for: My new vacuum, a Shark Navigator. It's lightweight and really sucks up the litter and cat hair. I love it! You won't believe it, but it only takes me 15 minutes to vacuum my whole house! (If I'm booking it.)

Currently enjoying: The warm summer weather! I have been spending as much time outside as possible.

Tell me something current about you!

Weekend Wrap Up!

It was a wonderful weekend filled with family and friends.
I'm a lucky gal!

My goal was to be outside as much as possible this weekend. I called it Operation Be Outside. As you will see, I think I reached my goal!
After just four hours of sleep, I woke at at 4:41. Whatever. Time to take on the day!

The dork in me was excited to spend some of the morning folding laundry and watching vlogs. Unfortunately I discovered that at some point during the night,, Christmas peed on my laundry basket! The pee didn't get on all my clothes, but it was hard to tell what was clean and what was soiled, so I had to throw everything back in the wash. Ugh!

I went for a neighborhood run. Even though I felt tired and slow, I actually had some pretty good paces!

Work was fine. There are only 7.5 student days left until summer! Students and teachers are ready. Parents, are you ready!?

Except I've looked like this since January...

After work I was super productive. I ran some errands, did a little house cleaning, made ground turkey and two quiche. I slept really good on Friday night. That's the perk of getting shitty sleep... you know for sure you will get good sleep the next day!
I spent the morning hanging out with a friend. We enjoyed coffee and huge breakfast paninis (al fresco!) at Juice and Java, which is right down the road from my house. Then we parked at Bernheisel Bridge Road and did a short hike on the AT. I wanted to show my friend my happy place on the trail, which is just shy of 1.5 miles South from where we parked.

Later that afternoon, I hit up the AT for a trail run! This time I parked at Sherwood. I wanted to run up to the Cumberland County Overlook and back, so that's what I did. Plus I tacked another mile and a half on at the end for good measure.

While I was running, I saw some of the same people I passed on the trail when I was hiking with my friend earlier that morning. One woman told me she was doing a thru hike! We hiked and chatted for a bit, then I ran off up the mountain to finish my workout. There were a ton of people out on the trail because it was such a gorgeous day.

Then I headed to my brother's house for a family picnic. I love my family!

That evening I enjoyed some wine and chili on my back porch. A friend from work gave me some chili to try. It was so good!
I slept so good on Saturday night. I didn't roll out of bed until 9:30! Who am I!? My coffee was enjoyed on my back porch. (Operation Be Outside, remember!?)

Then I needed to get a workout in. I felt a little pain in my left heel when I woke up (it had been fine ever since my chiro appointment on Wednesday) so I was debating on whether to run or not. Of course I wanted to run, but I didn't want to make it worse. Especially because I had a long trail run planned for the next day.

I took the risk and ran. Luckily, my heel felt fine. It was quite warm out but I still had some good paces!

Then I headed over to Bree's house to visit for a little. Look at the necklace she got us! She's so silly!

It says "Best Bitches". Because we are.

The rest of the day and evening was spent at a pool party/picnic at my friend Katrina's house. I work with Katrina but she has become a really good friend too. There are always a ton of people at her parties and I usually only know the work friends who come. That's okay. We laid on towels in the grass and just chatted and laughed the evening away.

Someone brought Jello shots!
(She shall remain nameless!)

I also tried one of these bitches.
Omg it was so good!

I love my friends!!!!

~ MONDAY! ~

This three day weekend is really preparing me for summer. I could get used to waking up without and alarm! I enjoyed my coffee inside today. I look a little mad but I swear I am happy! What can I say, I have RBF. (Resting bitch face.)

One of my favorite things to do in the morning is open up the front door and let the sunshine in!

I had sooooooo much to do today. In fact, this to do list got twice as long because I kept thinking of things I needed to add!

I decided to meet a group of friends at Swatara State Park to run the mountain bike trails. Swatara is absolutely beautiful. I ran a couple miles with my friend Kristen and it was so good to catch up. Then I ran out ahead so I could get a good workout in. I ended up with 9 miles total. Unfortunately, even though my heel didn't hurt when I woke up in the morning, it hurt after my run. Boo. At least I had a chiropractor appointment in a couple days!

At the end of the run we did a bourbon shot! Because, why not? And because we are trail runners!

That afternoon I headed over to Artsfest in Harrisburg. Artsfest has artists, food, and entertainment all along Front Street. There was bad traffic and lots of crowds, so it was a little annoying. But I ended up getting a really beautiful necklace that I can't wait to incorporate into my wardrobe!

After Artsfest, it was time to get down to business. I ran a bunch of errands, then came home and cleaned my whole house. I finally put my new vacuum together (without the directions, thankyouvermuch!). I love my Shark Navigator! I actually timed it and it only takes me 45 minutes to dust and vacuum my whole house! (Mind you, I am TRUCKING!)

Then I did all kinds of yard work. Yard work is more fun with a refreshing drink!

Finally, it was time to relax. I will leave you with these beautiful pictures of Jelly...

I hope you all had a great weekend!
Tell me something fun you did this weekend!
Teachers, are you ready for summer?
Parents, are you ready for summer?

Do you like Jello shots?

I'm not afraid anymore.

I used to be afraid of running trail alone. In my mind, there were so many reasons to be scared...

1. Snakes
2. Bears
3. Rapists
4. Murderers

My fear of these things prevented me from running trail as often as I liked. That's not cool! I mean, it's good to have a healthy sense of fear just to ensure you take steps to stay safe, but if the amount of fear is irrational and it prevents you from doing something you love, then there's a problem!

I don't know what happened, but about two months ago I realized I was no longer scared to run on the trail by myself! It is a wonderful, freeing feeling to be able to be out there running confidently on my own.

The only thing I can attribute this newfound bravery and confidence to is that my life has been turned upside down these past couple months and I just have too much else on my mind to worry about rather than imaginary rapists and murderers on the trail.

Whatever the reason is, I'll take it. I'm out there alone on the trail and I love it!

Have you ever overcome your fear of something? How did it happen?
