Things that make ya go hmmmmm.... (Friday 5!)

Hey all! I am linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for Friday 5 2.0!

Today, I'm just going to share 5

"Things that make ya go hmmmmmm"

1. Hmmmm.... I'm losing everything! I lost my ID badge for work so I got a new one. Well, two days after I got my new badge, I found the old one hooked to a cardigan I had worn to work once. I also lost my Garmin but I don't want to buy a new one (even though it's a piece of crap and I probably need a new one!) I just have to hunker down and look really hard for it.

2. Hmmmm.... I'm sick of all this rain! I've been down in the dumps this week and the rain sure isn't helping things. Luckily, we're supposed to have a beautiful weekend.

3. Hmmmm.... why have I never tried plantains!? A student let me try some plantains she brought in for her class. They were divine! They were cooked and covered in sugar. What's not to love?

4. Hmmmm... by the end of the day, my classroom is a mess! I guess that means we had a good day!

5. Hmmm.... I JUST NOTICED TODAY IS FRIDAY THE 13TH! However, I'm not superstitious at all. I'm sure today will be a wonderful day.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you superstitious?
Do you like plantains?
Tell me something that makes ya go HMMMMM!

  1. Plantains are amazing--especially fried ones. They serve them a ton in Mexico and Costa Rica. But WHY if I love them, have I never gotten them here and prepared them at home for us? Hmmmmm.

    1. I don't know why, maybe you can do that one of these weekends while you guys are all comfy and cozy inside cooking and watching sports. :)

    2. I think because they a such a treat so I indulge on vacation. Plus, things always taste better when someone else prepares them, right?

  2. Friday the 13th is my favorite. I've always said that 13 is my lucky number and my husband and I had our first real date on a Friday the 13th...

  3. We discovered plantains years ago! My favorite thing to do with them is fry them and put them on tacos. It's not as weird as it sounds.

  4. I lose my stuff all the time and then find it right in front of my face. Ha! Oh yeah it's Friday the 13th!

    1. Oh me too. Sometimes I can't find my cell phone because I set it down somewhere in my classroom and I have to ask my students where it is. Sometimes you just need fresh eyes.

  5. Don't you hate when you lose something but you know it HAS to be in your house?

I've had plantains years ago but don't really remember what they taste like. I'm curious as to what cactus taste like as I often see cactus leaves at the store!

I'm not superstitious at all. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful day!

    1. Yup, story of my life. It's somewhere in my house, but who knows where!? I don't even have a big house and we have been good about not keeping clutter, etc, so it shouldn't be hard to find in my house!

  6. I'm not a huge fan of plantains. I've been losing things and losing my mind -- did I lock the door? did I turn off the stove? -- I think it's stress. I lost my work badge but when they told me I'd have to pay for a new one, I kept looking until I found it. ;-)

  7. I've always enjoyed Friday the 13th, and the number 13. I'm not superstitious at all.

  8. I'm always paranoid about Friday the 13th too! I don't work in an office or school, so no badge, but I do have one for when I go into the corporate office. Instead of a badge, it's really a key card to access the building but I forget it EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO TO THE OFFICE! When I did work in an office, I always kept my badge in my car so that I would not lose it, though.

    1. That is a good idea to keep it in the car! Our's is to get into the building as well as to identify us in the building for security reasons. Like, if we see an adult in the building without a badge, we are supposed to report it right away.

  9. Plaintains rock. :) I disocvered them a few years ago. One of my first blog post was about plaintain waffles!

I did know it was Friday the 13th, but hadn't really thought much about it.

I had that episode where I lost the charger for my Garmin, and it turned up in my husband's car (it's magnetic and locks onto anything metal, but I'm still not really sure how it ended up there).

    1. Isn't it weird where things end up? I'm glad you found your charger.

  14. Did you find your GPS? Did you check the one chair by your kitchen? isn't that where it was last time?

There is a Puertorican stand at the Harrisburg Farmers market that has the BEST plantains !! super yummy!! Also, there is garlic plantain chips, I'm not allowed to buy those because I can eat a whole bag in 1 hour.
