I'm running a race today!

Today, I'm running the HARRC in the Park 10 Miler at Pinchot Park. I love running at Pinchot, and now that I'm too scared to run trail alone, the only time I get to do it is when I race!

I'm just running this race for fun. It starts at 10am, which is a huge plus. I look forward to a fun couple hours in the woods, and then just relaxing at home for the rest of the day.

I ran this race seven years ago. I did it in an hour and twenty-four minutes and was the third woman overall! That will not be happening this morning. In fact, I can't even find my freaking Garmin. Where is my Garmin!?

One thing I remember about running this race in the past was that the woman I beat for third place was really nasty to me afterwards. She said, "I would've beaten you if it was a road race." WTF!!!??? Can you even imagine saying that to someone??? 99.9999% of runners would say, "Nice run!"
Anyone racing this weekend?
Did another runner ever say something super nasty to you?

  1. I can not believe a grown adult would say something like that. Did you ever look up the results and find out who this lady was? I wonder if she will be running today. Would you recognize her?
Have fun! Looks like it will be a great day for running trail!

    1. I did look up who the lady was! She was probably about 5 years older than me... ran a lot of road races and this looked like her first trail race. Her times were speedy. But at the time I was running trail A LOT and was pretty fast on the trail. I would recognize her if I saw her again!

  2. I can't believe anyone would say that to another runner! What a bad sport... in the end it's just a race and it doesn't matter much in real life. I hope you had a good run today and finished smiling, injury-free, and had FUN!

    1. Thanks Amy! I know it was insane how rude she was, and really, immature. It's just a race. I had a great time today. I pushed myself... I guess it was silly to think I wouldn't have! I only finished 4 minutes slower than the time I beat the sour sport. :)

  5. I did have fun and only positive people!

Awwww but you know what you were the rabbit for her to chase and it most likely pushed her had she hadn't had you to try to beat.
