Fall Shopping Haul (Part 2)

If you missed the first part of my Fall Shopping Haul, check it out here!

When last we left off, I had left TJ Maxx and got lunch at Panera so I could gear up for Ross. BUT... I forgot to show you something I got at TJ's!!!!!

I got myself the cutest peep toe booties. They are a light green/grey/brown color. The fabric is canvas. They are comfortable, I swear. The brand is Blowfish. I wear a size 7.5.

These are the one item I bought that I just know I don't need at all. And they are kind of trendy, so who knows how long they will be in style? AND I may not be able to wear them through winter due to the open toe aspect.

I asked for some opinions from friends, and the consensus was they are cute, but are they practical for winter?

WELL I BOUGHT THEM! I will just get frostbite on my toes, I don't care. I love them. I don't need my toes for running, do I!?

But... I just loved them!!!!

They were $29.99... A little much for shoes I DON'T NEED.

The sweater I am wearing with this outfit is from Community Aid, a local thrift store. It was $4.99. Don't hate me! I already owned the leggings.

I am excited to figure out what other outfits will look good with these shoes! I am open to suggestions! What do you think about if I wore brown or black tights with the shoes in the winter? Is that too weird?

I feel like I should've dedicated a whole post to the awesome booties... but I didn't. Hang tight, I have some more looks to show you!

This is sort of cheating, but I want to show you a top and pair of black pants/leggings I got at Ross a couple weeks ago. The top was $11.99 and is a cool, stretchy, thin, flannel. It is so thin I have to wear a cami under it.

The pants look like black dress pants because they have pockets on the butt and a zipper... but they are thin and stretchy like leggings. They are SO COMFY. They were $11.99.

Here's another look with the black pants/leggings. I paired them with a Liz Claiborne sweater I got at the Community Aid thrift store for $5.99. Don't hate me!!!

One more look with the black dress/stretchy pants... I call this, Sporty Meg! I owned the shoes and vest already. But the black top with the little white flecks in it was from Target and was $10. Like I said, I don't have a lot of long sleeve tops. And I like how this one is basic and casual so I can wear it under my plethora of vests...

Here's a close up so you can see the color of the top better...

This grey dress is a thin, almost fleece like material. It is going to be so warm. I wasn't sure how it was going to look on, but I liked it a lot! I could see myself dressing it up like I did in the picture, or dressing it down with the blue puffy vest and sneaks in the above picture.

The dress was $14.99.

At Ross, I also got a black cardigan ($9.99) and maroon leggings ($4.99). I wear leggings a lot in the winter and it is nice to have long cardigans that cover my bum!

Next, I ventured to Target because I was hoping to find a wine rack. I didn't find one, but I found this look which I FREAKING LOVE!!!!

Oops, top is from Ross, actually. $12.99!

I love the criss cross on the shoulders.

JUST LOOK AT THESE PANTS!!!
THEY ARE GREY LEGGINGS!
I LOVE THE DETAILS!
They are completely stretchy and comfy but they look like jeans.
$14.99

They're a little weird on the top.... they go up over my belly button!

I also got some opaque tights at Target. I wear these under dresses in the winter.

Not pictured: Two pairs of THICK black leggings. I bought 2 pairs for $5.99 each. I had black leggings but they were thing and had pills all over them...

Remember how I went to the thrift store? I got a puzzle for my grandma and a puzzle for me!

And while I was at Target, I was in search of hair dye that wouldn't give me a headache and make me feel sick... This stuff worked, but it didn't cover my greys very well. So much for amonia free...

  1. Great haul! I use to think the open toe booties were just so senseless but then I jumped on the band wagon earlier this spring with a similar pair. I think they are good for fall and spring but don't think I would wear them from December to February. I just have a thing with people dressing unseasonably..haha. I recently downloaded this fashion app that uses clothes you have from your own closet to make outfits and keep inventory. I've been playing around with it and I think you'd really like it! I'll give you details later. Oh maybe I should blog about it?

    1. It took me awhile to appreciate the open toe booty look. They are a little weird looking, but it's one of those styles that grew on me. What do you think if I wore tights under them in the winter, would that look okay? That app sounds so cool! Yes blog about it but give me the name!

    2. Oh I also wanted to tel you that dress is adorable. I love a good comfy dress and tights! Wearing tights with open toe shoes is usually a no, no and I stick with that. Of course you will always find some Avant Garde designers who will do it! I guess it all depends on the look and what you are comfortable with.

    3. Hmmm okay I will take that into consideration, thank you!

  2. Megan, you are so cute! I totally love to do a fashion show with all of my new clothes and show my husband, and he is bored out of his mind with it! :) Kudos to Paul for taking all of the great pictures. You got some really great items. Mix and match for sure! I'm envious that you get to wear such fun clothes to work. Banker clothes are boring. They actually gave us a handbook with examples of what we can wear, and can't wear. Luckily I'm a contractor so I bend the rules - I don't wear pantsuits (pants with matching jacket), but I do wear dress pants with appropriate work tops - which are usually black cardigans. Such a rebel.

    1. Thank you Lisa! Paul really is a good husband who goes with the flow. He's used to my antics.

I would wear all of these outfits to work except the one with the white pants. I don't want grimy little hands to get on those!

Black cardigan- you are a rebel!!! I have heard that banking is one of the last careers in which you really have to be so conservative with the way you dress.
