MGR's Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday!

My weekend was okay. Friday was productive. Saturday and Sunday... I was just so tired! I spent a lot of time in my pjs on the couch.

My weekend started a little early because I took a sick day on Friday. I had a gyno appointment late morning, and it was scheduled at a weird time in which I couldn't take a half day.

After my appointment, I went for a neighborhood run. Then we took the cats to the vet, which is always an experience!

That evening, my parents came over for dinner. It was their Christmas present. Paul made pulled chicken sandwiches and sweet potato fries. I made corn muffins from a box and bought chips, cole slaw, and cheese cake.

I did not take one single picture!

I slept for 11 hours straight and didn't get out of bed until close to noon! It had been about two weeks since I didn't have to set my alarm, and boy did I make the most of it! Chrissy slept with me all night. He was tired from the vaccines the day before.

I ran 3 miles but stopped because my adductor muscle was hurting. I finished off my workout with some "light" weights- about 5lb lighter than I normally do.

I was just so tired today. I laid in bed and did some reading and some practicing my Spanish. Then we went to my bro and SIL's house to play some games. The introduced us to Blockus and Bananagrams. We laughed and laughed!

Again, I slept forever. What's wrong with me!? I lifted, studied my Spanish, started a puzzle, and watched CNN.

It was a blah day.
Tell me something fun you did this weekend!

  1. OMG, what I wouldn't give to sleep til noon....just once! The best I can do is get up and make my coffee/breakfast and enjoy it in bed while watching Netflix. Good for you--your body must have needed sleep!! How's your leg feeling today? I hope better.

    1. You know me, I don't normally sleep that long. Very out of character! My adductor feels pretty good today. I can feel it if I *make* it hurt, you know what I mean? It doesn't hurt just sitting here.

  2. I'm glad I'm not the only one!!! I have been drag out, dead tired since Thursday. Friday I needed to take a nap before my sister came to visit. Maybe it's the time of year? Maybe its mental exhaustion from working and keeping up with news...I don't know...

Poor kitties at the vet!! Wish Freyja good luck, she goes for her spay surgery tonight.

    1. Awwww dear little Freyja! I did not know that's how you spell her name. Where did you get that name again?

  3. I can't remember the last time I slept until noon! Haha, I slept until 6:30 yesterday and that felt luxurious!

The boys and I played Blokus a lot when they were little. I forgot how much I loved that game!

    1. I was pretty bad at it because it was the first time we played and I wasn't any good at the strategy.

    1. As soon as they got out Bananagrams I thought of you because I knew you told me you like that game! I LOVED it but word games aren't Paul's thing.

  5. It looks like you had a nice relaxing weekend which was probably what you needed after being at the march last weekend. So jealous of you getting to sleep in a lot and just hang at the house and play games- sometimes the best weekends are the low key ones.

  7. Sometimes you gotta sleep!! Haha! Frank was like that last week. I'd get home from work at 7:40 and he'd already be asleep. I think he slept like 11 hours per night all week long!

This weekend we went out with the Sierra Club to do some trail maintenance in a local state park. It was tons of work, but also a lot of fun!

  8. Hola Chica! que fin de semana tan relajado!

I have not slept until noon in forever!

We went to the Ice Fest in Chambersburg, that was a lot of fun! I always forget that Chambersburg is there.

How are your hip pains this morning?

    1. Okay, I'm not going to look that up and I am going to see how close I am... Hi girl, What a good weekend to relax?? Am I right?? Let me see! OOH google tells me I was very close! I don't know why I threw the word "good" in there. You did not say good. :)

"I always forget Chambersburg is there" <--- Haha that is funny.

My adductors feel pretty good, I can feel it if I *try* to feel it, you know what I mean?

  9. I've been sleeping like it's my job lately too. Maybe just the whole dark month of January vibes? I dunno. Our bodies are obviously needing it! Bananagrams is fun. My kids used to play that when they were little!

  10. I pushed my run to Saturday from Friday because I was so tired. I didn't sleep in either day this weekend, but I did plenty of snuggles with Allie, after trimming her claws. She loves to knead and that's how I find the sharpies.

    1. Aw Allie lets you trim her? My cats have NONE of that.

  11. Chrissy looks so calm at the vet! Cecil does not handle vet visits well. It makes me cringe but they always have to grab him by the scruff to hold him down while they listen to his heart etc. He screams at the top of his lungs the whole time too. Sometimes the vet can't heart his heart because he's yelling so much. Usually as long as I put a hand on him he'll stop for about 10 seconds before starting up again, so that's how the vet gets to hear his heart.

Then, just like magic, once he's home he's back to normal. He usually trots out of his carrier and walks directly to his food bowl or to the treat drawer. I guess he assumes such a traumatic experience must be followed up with comfort food! :)

    1. Do not let the calmness fool you. There was also hissing. He just gets scared. But he's been to the vet a million times. Maybe he just doesn't remember? How big are their brains?

Wow I can't even imagine Cecil and his crying. Is it like a mean cry or a sad cry?

  12. I've been so tired lately that I could use a day to sleep in but I get up near the same time each day because I need to give Baylee her pills. I went shopping this weekend and checked out the new H&M at the Capitol Mall. I found it to be blah!
