5 Items I Would Buy All Over Again (VLOG!)

Hey all! I am linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for Friday 5 2.0!

This week's theme is Items I Would Buy All Over Again. I decided to do this in VLOG format.

If you don't feel like watching, here is my short list!

1. Thick Reebok running tights.

My Reebok's are my only pair of running tights. It's a good thing I run alone because I wear them several days in a row. I'm sure they are pretty stinky by the end of the week. They're warm and comfy. They were pretty expensive ($50) because I bought them at Dick's, but they were worth every penny.

2. Smartphone.

I put off owning a smartphone for as long as possible because I knew once I got one, there would be no going back. I freaking love it! I love how easy it is to take really good pictures and post them with just a click or two. I love the navigation system. I love playing Scrabble against the computer. I love how I am never bored anymore while waiting for an appointment or waiting in line. My life has been transformed. I'm not sure how much my phone was because Paul took care of everything, but I feel like it was less than $100 with the "free" upgrade, rebate, and all that good stuff from Verizon.

3. Big Girl weights.

Big Girl weights refer to the massive amount of metal I purchased from Dick's about two years ago. It is awesome to have dumbbells ranging from 8lb-30lb right in my home so I am always able to lift, even if I can't go to the gym. I have a total of 216 pounds of weights in my guestroom... which cost $216, but worth every penny!

4. Vacation purse.

Two summers ago, we went on a twelve day road trip from Denver to San Diego. Before we left, I bought an awesome purse (which we dubbed "vacation purse) at TJ Maxx. Not only is it stylish, but you can fit SO MUCH in it! Even though I use it daily, I still call it my vacation purse. It was about $20, from what I remember.

5. Monopoly Deal.

Monopoly Deal is a REALLY fun card game. It's based off the game Monopoly where you have to accumulate properties, you can charge rent, and build up your bank. It's one of our favorite games to play together. You can play with a group or just two players. My favorite is just two players. Paul and I even made up our own versions of the game. If you are a Monopoly Deal fan, hit me up and I can tell you some more fun ways to play the game!
What items would you buy all over again?
Do you have a favorite card game?

  1. Wait, did you say Seven degrees?? O girl if it's 7 degrees I'm on the couch with a fleece blanket..lol.

I need to get a pair of warm tights, I have some fleece lined ones but they are not really for running. I my have to look into the insulated ones.
I have a vacation purse too but mine is not stylish.

I KNEW you would be transformed once you got your smart phone!!!! Doesn't it make blogging SO much easier (or at least convenient).

Sign me up to come play monopoly deal with you guys!

    1. Two years ago my real feel thresh hold was 7 degree. Last year it was 12 degrees! Maybe it will inch up again this year? :)

I actually don't blog much on my smartphone, but I do READ blogs on it. I wait to write posts/comment until I am on my computer. I hate typing on my phone!

  2. I love all of your rings, I can't stop looking at them in the video. I have always wanted to be a ring person, but every time I put on more than two rings I feel silly. Maybe I will commit to becoming a ring person in 2017!

Adam is building us a gym in our new house so soon we will have big girl weights at home too :). Actually i don't know if "soon" is the accurate word to describe the timeframe. The gym is probably the last thing we're going to work on since we will still have access to our apartment gym until the end of January!

    1. I WANTED TO BE A RING PERSON TOO! That's why I started wearing rings. :) That, and my mom gave me a bunch of the Avon ones she wore while I was growing up- which are the rings I am wearing in the video. :) I think you should be a ring person. Here is how you become a ring person: Put on 3 rings and wear them. VOILA. You are a ring person.

That is so cool you're going to have a gym! Where is it going to go? IN a spare bedroom?

  3. I knew I wasn't the only one who wore running tights multiple days! Winter running clothes pile up fast!!

Weights are such a great investment. I only have a kettle bell, it's my other boyfriend, we have kettle bell dates, but it's a rude kettle bell and it doesn't buy me dinner.

    1. Haha! Kettlebells are AWESOME! I have one of those too but I lent it to a friend and haven't been on a date with it in awhile. ;)

It's funny when I ran with you I couldn't wear the vest I wanted to because I already wore it like 3 days in a row and I was afraid it would smell!

    2. Ja ja !! this makes me laugh! wear the vest! I don't care! the hat I was wearing was sweaty from a few days ago and I still wore it!

  4. Good running tights are great! I cringe at the price, but I know if they're good quality, they'll last me a while. I still have my heavy running tights from college, and they're in great condition.

    1. Those tights you bought sound like a really good investment! Some things you can buy cheap but tights are good to drop some cash on for quality.

  5. I like your gift ideas and think you got a great deal on the weights, honestly. You are right that it's convenient to have them at home. One thing that sucks about being injured and cross training is that I have to go to the gym for it, which means I have to drive. I love running because I can just GO from home.

I've had my smartphone around a year now (my first picture I took on it was my Christmas tree last year so that's how I know). We have Google Fi and it's a great investment! Like you I was a late adopter with the Smartphone but it's worth it.

    1. One of my favorite things about running is to be able to just go from my front door too. I do love lifting at the gym but if I lift at home in the morning I get to sleep in a tiny bit more. Plus sometimes I will lift in my jammies. :)

  6. My most prized possession is the Chariot Cheetah running stroller that I bought in 1999! I used it for Jake and now I use it for Callum. It's my baby. They're expensive but worth every penny.

    1. I know you love your running stroller! Maybe when your kids are old and grown you will become a cat lady like me and take your kitties in your stroller. "Chariot Cheetah" is the freaking best name ever! It sounds like a POWERFUL stroller.

  7. So cute--I love your vlog and think you have some awesome items that you would repurchase. I would repurchase my home gym! At one time it had a treadmill which I didn't want to give up but had to, but I love my rowing machine, bike on a trainer, tons of weights and TRX. Being able to do all that at home is so nice! I think another item I would repurchase is my Kitchen Aid Mixer. I use it multiple times per week to bake and it's such a workhorse. Truth be told, I didn't actually purchase the one I have now, because it was a wedding gift (it will be 18 years of having it in May) but I would run out in a heartbeat and get another one if I had to. No question.

    1. You know what, I have heard that many people swear by their awesome Kitchen Aid mixer. They're really expensive I think, but holy moly if it lasted you 18 years I feel like that's more than worth it!

  8. Yes to the fleece lined tights... totally worth every penny.

  9. Oh, thanks for the idea for the game. Santa might have to bring that for the family! My weight set maxes out at 20lbs. So far that's enough for me.

  10. I love full tights, but the Reebok clothes never seem to fit me well! glad you're loving your smart phone. I don't know what I would do without mine!

  11. Smart phones...yep, once you get one, going back is basically impossible.

  12. I cant believe you went as long as you did without a smart phone! I am also glad for the investment I made in home workout stuff. Its definitely worth it to be able to get in good workouts at home!
