Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a great weekend.

Our was full of... puhp.

Chrissy had some sort of stomach bug so there was a puhp issue in our house this weekend.

See, he is a Maine Coon, which means he has long butt hair... which means when he has diarrhea, it can get caught in his butt hair... which means he needs a bath. Jelly had a non diarrhea related puhp clump in his butt hair this weekend too, which means in total, our cats got 5 baths over the course of 2 days.

It was traumatic, but they still love us.

It was rough getting out of bed due to being up late the night before at a Bob Saget show. I managed to lift in the sun room before work. I ate a pork chop and Greek yogurt on the way to work because... protein.

At school I put the finishing touches on my classroom and lesson plans. The highlight of my day was going to my SIL's for lunch and hanging out with her and my nieces and nephew.

After work, Paul and I binge watched some Big Brother. For us, binge watching equals about three episodes. That's pretty much the longest our attention spans are good for!

I fell asleep in my bed with my lap top. It felt like summer. Ah!

I slept until almost 11am! It felt divine!

Since my ITB didn't hurt in the morning, I went for a very enjoyable 5 miler. It was scorching hot and I was a little pokey, but I still enjoyed the run. My ITB/knee felt fine the rest of the day. It's so confusing. The two days I took off running (Thursday and Friday) were the WORST days pain wise. The day I run, it feels fine. WTF?

That evening we went to our friend Freddy's house to celebrate his birthday! A fun time was had by all!

 Rachel is a BEAST!

I went for another run, because, why not? It seems like lately I am so achy when I don't run. I did 5 miles and right when I finished it started POURING!

Then Paul and I headed to Randy and Michael's house to play some games. Again, a good time was had by all!

I only had to suggest this once and they were game!

Then we all headed for the mall near our house because an H&M store just opened. I could hear the music from a mile away. WHY IS THAT STORE SO LOUD???? Nothing makes me feel more old than when I go into a store and the music is so loud that I can't even focus.

I almost bought a cute shirt but the line for the dressing room was so long. I eyed up the shirt and figured it would fit and I didn't need to try it on. Unfortunately, the line to check out was twice as long as the fitting room! It was crowded, the music was making me slightly crazy, and I knew there was no way I could wait in line. I threw the shirt on the nearest rack and got the hell out of there as fast as possible.

I may go back when it is less crowded. We'll see.

When we got home, we chilled on the couch and watched Big Brother and Samantha Bee.

Normally I don't like Sundays, but this Sunday didn't feel like a Sunday! I think that is thanks to Randy and Michael having us over. Thanks guys!

Before I went to bed, I quickly laid out Flat Mrs. Cooney so I would be ready for my first day of school with students!

Ready or not, here they come...

Are there any stores that make you feel old?
Have you ever given your cat a bath?
Do you like Sundays? What do you normally do?

  1. I don't blame you to put the shirt back- I've done the same thing. Sometimes the lines to check out aren't worth the time and effort even if you do save some money. I hate crowded stores and for that reason, rarely shop. We have an outlet mall here that's really nice though. We have a few H&Ms but I've only been in there once (it's downtown).

I hope the first day back at school with the students goes well!

    1. Yes it wasn't worth it and honestly I didn't NEED the shirt. I don't need any clothes at this point!

The closest H&M to us is about an hour away so I guess it opening up here is a HUGE deal. Honestly, the clothes looked a lot like the ones in Forever 21.

  2. H & M is traumatic! And I feel so old. I really hate to waste time shopping so I buy online and quickly return to the store if it doesn't work out. I am much happier this way. I love Sundays. My day to cook and bake and watch football with Rick. Have a great first day back to school!

  3. Hope you have a great first day of school! I don't mind Sundays when I don't have much to do. I hate when I get back from a trip or something and have to scramble to get everything done before the work week starts.

    1. Yes and there is usually so much to get done that you end up not being able to relax as much!

  4. You know I dislike shopping but I do like to go to H&M. Which Mall is that at? I do plan on going for a few things before school starts so maybe I'll head down that way.
The stores that makes me feel very old Hollister and Abercrombie. They are both too dark, too loud, and smell overwhelmingly like cologne!

Have a first day back with students. Your outfit is super cute!

    1. I need a flashlight for Hollister. Not that I would shop there anyway. H&M is now at the Capitol City Mall- the one I met you at!

  5. Those kinds of stores do make me feel old. My eardrums are getting older and the music gets so loud. I can't even think when I'm in stores like that. I would've done the same thing and figured the shirt wasn't worth all that.

  6. Growing up we used to call poo balls that get stuck in butt fur "dingle berries." Do you ever use that term? So cool that you know a Freddy. I don't know many of them!

    1. I know that term but I don't use it because I think it is gross! Yeah Freddy is one of Paul's best friends. He is the only Freddy I know! I have actually never even had a student named Freddy.

  7. Is the H&M here open now? What?? I must visit ! The lines at their stores are always so long, I end up leaving whatever I was going to buy and walking out.

Charlotte Russe makes me feel very old... their music is too loud and their shirts and shorts are always too tiny!

That is a great outfit for the first day! Do you have students on the first day back to school?

    1. It JUST opened at the Capitol City Mall. It is huge. and loud. Though my friend works at Express right next door and she said the music is apparently for this weekend only. We'll see! So the lines are always long there? What the heck is up with that? I didn't think the clothes were THAT great. It was very comparable to Charlotte Russe or Forever 21.

Our first "teacher" day back was last Tuesday and I wore leggings haha. Today was the first "student" day so since I actually had to teach I dressed like I normally do. I am big on dresses, tunics, leggings, that kind of stuff. I find dress pants to be very contricting so if I have those on it must be a special occasion!

  8. HOLLISTER!!!! That is the cave store. :)

I am kind of mourning. But in a way, free time is that much more beautiful when your cup doesn't runneth over with it, you know what I mean???

  9. Are there new Full Frontals on that I'm missing? I have them all set to record but nothing has been recording lately, so I thought maybe it was on a hiatus!

I sometimes get achy when I don't run. I feel like it's my muscles atrophying lol! I'm glad you're running for enjoyment now that the marathon isn't happening. I hate when runners who love to run start to dread it!

    1. You are right, it IS on hiatus, but there were a couple episodes Paul and I missed because we were late to the Samantha Bee party. Last week's episode was a repeat that we happened to have never seen.
