Boooooooooooooob Saget!

Paul turned 33 in July, and for his birthday present, I got us tickets to see Bob Saget in Hagerstown, MD! This past Thursday, the night finally arrived!Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger... Yes, I went out on a school night. Can you believe it!?Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

The drive to the venue was a little stressful since we decided to leave at 5pm- rush hour! But we made it to The Maryland Theater with plenty of time to spare. We were in the fifth row, so we were right up close!

A comedian named Mike Bloom opened the show. I didn't really like him a whole lot, but Paul did. Luckily Mike Bloom was only on for about 20 minutes, and then Bob Saget came out!

I am sure you are aware that Bob's stand-up is nothing like his squeaky clean image on Full House. He is FILTHY I tell you! Actually, the only comedian I have ever seen who was filthier than Bob Saget was Mitch Fatel. I don't mind filth and vulgar language as long as the jokes are smart and funny, which I thought they were. It definitely is not everyone's cup of tea, though. So if you ever decide to go see Bob Saget: BEWARE!!!!

Bob interacted with the audience, sang funny songs, told hilarious stories... You could tell he really enjoyed himself up there and he wasn't just going through the motions or anything like that. He was a pro and he was having fun. He performed for a solid 1 hour and 45 minutes! It was well worth the ticket price if you ask me!

One of his funniest stories was about John Stamos and the 8x10. If you are curious to hear that story, just Google it and you will find it! Make sure you are not at work and there are no kids around, though!

So, that was our fun Thursday night! I will need the entire weekend to recover...

Have you ever seen any famous comedians? We saw Mitch Fatel last year and Jerry Seinfeld. Both were excellent!

Are you a Bob Saget fan? I wouldn't call myself a fan but
I grew up watching Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos.

Do you like dirty comedy or clean? I do not mind dirty at all as long as it is funny.

  1. I totally read your title as "Boob Saget". Haha. I'm glad you guys had fun at the show. I grew up watching Full House and AFHV too but know his comedy is way dirty! It would still be great to see him though and yeah, dirty comedy is cool as long as it's funny and not JUST dirty!

  2. I've wanted to read his book, but keep forgetting about it! I'm going to look it up.

I saw Craig Ferguson in Harrisburg last year, he is my favorite comedian. He is a bit dirty...

  3. Going to comedy shows is one of my most favorite things to do (along w/ going to watch sports and movies, movies, movies). We have seen a lot -- famous and not so famous. I would have to say the funniest show we saw was at the Tempe Improv. We saw Jo Koy. I had actually never heard of him but it was what I wanted to do for my b-day. OMG, he was so funny, the guy that opened for him was so funny, I had two Irish coffees, so I thought I was so funny. LOL. It was a great night.

  4. I had watched the "behind the scenes story" of full house and learned that Bob the comedian is definitely nothing like his full house persona!

I got Scott tickets to see the Impractical Jokers this year for his birthday and it was awesome! They have a show on spike TV.

In 2013 we saw Kathleen Madigan! We both love her. I remember this date so clearly because it was the Friday after the 2013 Boston Marathon and the two suspects were in a police chase. They had not caught them yet by the time the show started so I kept looking at my phone cus my friends were giving me the play by play via FB!

    1. Paul loves Impractical Jokers! What I great gift for Scott's Bday!

I love Kathleen Madigan too! I should look to see if she is playing anywhere. I guess you will always remember that night due to the terrorist bombings/police chase. I remember watching it on the news.

  5. I had heard that Bob Saget was really dirty--and now you've confirmed it.

I saw Jerry Seinfeld back in the 80s before he was famous! I remember coming home and telling my husband how funny he was. And he's "clean". Hmmm. Do you have to be dirty to be funny? I think not.

    1. NO way, definitely do not have to be dirty to be funny because Seinfeld is HILARIOUS. I think he actually might be the best!

  6. I saw Amy Schumer earlier this year and found her hilarious, but think it depends on who you go with. If you're not really comfortable with the people you're there with, things could be awkward! Same with movies that have dirty parts :)
