How THIS teacher Spent Her First Day of Summer Vaycay!!!

First of all, I slept until the gloriously late hour of 8:38am. Seriously, that is 3 hours and 38 minutes later than normal!

Then I...

Drank coffee and read blogs.

Pet Jelly.

Made the finishing touches to my modified training schedule for the days we are in Colorado.

Ran 3 miles.

Lifted chest at Planet Fitness.

Took Paul for blood work.

Stopped at Wally World so I could find some new "nighties". (Otherwise known as XXL t-shirt to wear to bed. $2.87 each, you can't beat that!)

Picked up some new reading material at the library!

Cleaned the whole freaking house, weeded, chopped down some bushes, packed for vacation, then celebrated with a margarita!

Worked on my puzz-puzz!

Followed election night coverage until late into the evening!

Fell asleep reading my new book!

Peace out!

What do you do on the first day of a vacation or long break from work?

Reading anything good lately?
How do you make your margaritas? If you ever have the fortune of letting me make a margarita or you... you will love it!

  1. Looks like a great way to spend the first day of Summer (I would not want to be a teacher but I hope your summer is amazing and totally get why you're training for a marathon now instead of Fall/Winter/Spring). Busy day but also pretty low-key with lots of cat cuddles and other fun stuff. Our vacations usually involve travel so typically if I am off work I am super busy, busier than I am when I *do* work!

    1. We are on vacation now (not just off school vacation but travel vacation) and we are exhausted! I try to jam pack as much into a day as I can, so when we get home we need a couple days to actually relax. Okay so we need a vacation from vacation hahaha!

Yeah I have never trained for a marathon during the summer before but there's a first time for everything!

    1. I finished The Widow a couple days ago... it was interesting. I want to know if you like it or not!

I bet your hubby is pumped!!! Teachers get as excited as kids for the end of school, as I am sure you know!

  3. What a very productive day! That is awesome. Normally vacation means travel somewhere but in December HPE does a holiday shut down and I love it. Every day we go see a movie and I am such a happy girl.

    2. It is actually how the company saves money. They force us to use vacation time which I really don't mind at all. I think this year it will be December 27th - 30th (they will give us the 23rd and 26th as holiday). I just enjoy it so much because Rick's business is slow at that time and we just have a great time seeing movies, going to lunch and watching college bowl games!

  5. On my first day of break I ran a 5K race, and then worked on our swimming pool ALL afternoon. I was exhausted by 5 pm.

I'm hoping my next book is Girl on the train. I saw the movie preview last week an I'm intrigued!

    1. I started reading the first chapter but at the RMNP Visitor Center I got a book about all the deaths in RMNP... so I am going to start reading that instead! I'll get back to Girl on the Train! :)
