Do you like murders??????

  1. You are all set for training! If you don't like the gels why not try chews? I only use Roctane during a race. It may be mental but whatever. Coveting your Nuun!

    1. Thanks for the tip on the chews! If Gu doesn't work, I will try those.

Hey if it's mental, it doesn't matter- it still WORKS.

  2. I always get so excited to buy anything new that will support my fitness habits! I am looking for a really good weight training book that will show many exercises to do for each body part. I am hoping you do full reviews of all your nutrition & hydration purchases. My regular 3-5 miles isn't nearly enough to need any of that, but I could probably use something like that for my 2+ hour bike rides. I don't really like murders just because it hits a little too close to home but I completely understand the fascination. The Jon Benet Ramsey case is crazy. I do think a family member did it, too. After you read this book let us know if you have suspicion on which one did it.

    1. I will do reviews for sure! In fact, I will save some draft posts right now so I don't forget!

I am going to ask a very personal question... you said you don't like murders because it hits to close to home. Do you have a family member or close friend who was a victim of a violent crime?

Last night I started the book but fell asleep after about 4 pages! I was exhausted. I think Paul wants to go fishing today so if I take him fishing, I will have time to read!

    2. A fishing/reading date sounds awesome! We are taking a ride on Peak to Peak Hwy from Estes to Boulder (YAY) and then grabbing lunch there. I will have to email you more info if you are interested but Rick lost his mom, brother and sister and it's an unsolved crime. It's heartbreaking that they have no closure.

    3. Susan, I am so sorry, that is horrible!! :( Yes I am interested in learning more but only if you feel like sharing. I understand if you don't want to.

  3. While I was watching your video Cecil jumped up on the desk and started purring really loudly. He's a big fan!

Someone once told me that she hates Gu but they are easier to digest than other foods while running so she just shoots a big glob to the back of her throat and swallows trying not to get any on her taste buds? (sounds so dirty) I've actually gotten used to the choc. outrage and I don't mind it too much anymore! It just requires drinking something after bc it's very rich.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of everything!

    1. When I was re-watching it to make sure I didn't look dumb, Christmas jumped up too! I think I have that sort of high sing songy voice that cats just love!!! :)

  4. OMG...I love your cat. He just stuck his race like right in the camera. He had to be in the limelight! Elly and Sydney have done that when I have made yoga videos or taken pictures. It's like if I am interested in it, they must know what it is.

By the way, since I'm heading out to Europe next week, I need some books to download. Have any good suggestions? I also find murders wildly interesting.

    1. Yes, the WORLD revolves around cats (in their mind), right??? :) I love that they are curious and want to know what's going on.

OOH boy do I have good suggestions for you. My favorite book about the JonBenet case is JonBenet by Steve Thomas. My favorite book about the OJ case is Murder in Brentwood by Mark Fuhrman. I read so many OJ books and this is seriously the most comprehensive one. The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker is fascinating. The Profiler by Pat Brown looks at cases from a criminal profiling view, which I thought was fascinating. Then there is my FAVORITE book about the criminal justice system- Mistrial by Mark Geragos. Yes, he is the lawyer that defended Scott Peterson. I generally am very pro prosecution and always wondered why defense attorneys would defend someone who is guilty. This book really made me understand that and it was just all around really informative. Let me know if you read any of these and if you liked them!

No advice on Gu here... But Roger loves his Gu, he says they help keep him from cramping.

Have you read In Cold Blood by Capote? That is the one murder book that found very interesting.

  7. I definitely understand your fascination with murder cases. I remember you watching all those trials on Jodi Arius..lol
I am fascinated too and always up for a good Dateline Mystery.
The case I was most fascinated by has always been the Natalie Halloway case. You'll have to tell me about that Jon bonnet Ramsey book next time we get together!

    1. I used to watch Nancy Grace and she covered Natalie Halloway all the time! Have you read any books about that case? I have not. Dateline and 48 hrs is the best!

  9. I love the brief cameo by Christmas. :)

Fun fact: I thought nuun was pronounced "nun" so that's what I called it until I was corrected in the athlete's village in 2015!

    p.s. YOu are so funny!

    1. lol thanks I am glad you think I am funny. :) I swear I am just being myself! YAY I'm not the only person who didn't know how to say nuun! I think we should just say it however we want. Yes Christmas just has to be all up in whatever is going on. It's his nature. :)

  10. I've started using Glukose on runs, and I really like it, but I have to say that nothing gives me energy like Gu with caffeine. But I've also found since starting to drink a pre-workout drink, I need fewer snacks during my runs, which I like a lot!
