Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday! This work week is going to flyyyyyyyyyyyy!

The sked:

Monday: Normal work.
Tuesday: In-service day (no kids, no meetings)
Wednesday:  In-service day (no kids, no meetings)
Thursday-Monday: VACATION!

I hope you have a short week, too!

I had a very chilly run on Friday morning. I felt great and my IT band felt very strong all week. I think I am turning a corner here...

Work was crazy. Lots of drama... all stuff I can't share with you. I mean, the stories I could tell... But I can't!

Friday evening was awesome! For once, I made it home from running errands after work and still had energy left to actually hang out with Paul and be a good wife! We played cards, made dinner, and started re-watching season one of American Horror Story. GREAT season, and the scariest, in my opinion.

Saturday morning was perfect! I woke up early, got all hopped up on coffee, and embraced my new love of cold weather running by getting in 8 chilly miles before 9am! I even saw "White Boy", the albino squirrel that lives in our neighborhood. Paul named him and loves him. You have to admit, he is pretty cute!

The plan for Saturday morning was to bang out as much Christmas gift shopping as possible. We knocked out all of our nieces and nephew as well as brothers and sisters. WE DON'T MESS AROUND!!!! I did not wrap the Christmas presents yet because I like to wait and do that when my house is decorated.

Coffee from Dunkin' thanks to a gift card leftover from last Christmas!

Paul says, "The only reason you're letting me out of the house this weekend is because I shaved."

Lunch at Panera... again, thanks to a gift card!
Turkey, avocado, and bacon panini with turkey chili.

You would think after an 8 mile run and 3 hours of shopping that I would be ready to take it easy for the rest of the day. Nope. There was still lots to do! Like go for an hour and half walk with my friend Bree. These semi weekly walks fly by so fast because Bree and I just chat and chat! I wish I had a picture from our walk because we were both wearing very cute socks. But I don't, so you will have to deal with this picture of us from a couple weeks ago!

Later that night, Bob and Rachel came over for game night. But that's not the big news. The big news is that they got ENGAGED!!!!!!

The best part about Sunday was that I had NOTHING planned. The second best part was that I had a really strong 10 mile run!

Can we just talk about how effed up PA weather is??? I mean, check out the various states of dress I ran in this week!

Pic #1, TUESDAY = Feels like temp of 8 degrees
Pic #2, SATURDAY = Feels like temp of 27 degrees
Pic #3, SUNDAY = Feels like temp of 53 degrees

Oh, and it is supposed to get up to 70 degrees tomorrow!!!!

The rest of Sunday was the usual... getting ready for the week ahead and just lazing around while Paul watched football. As you know, that is how I prefer to spend my Sundays!

What do your Sundays look like?
Did the weather allow you to run in SHORTS yesterday!?
Do you watch AHS? What is your favorite season?

  1. Nice job on all the wonderful runs, girl! You rock! I have most of my shopping done, too (did it last week) but like you, must have the house decorated and then I have a "gift wrapping ritual" (I love to put on music and wrap the gifts).

My Sundays are REST. Always do my grocery shopping super early when it's just me and all the people re-stocking the shelves, then I come home and cook, bake, clean my house and work on art while watching football. I kind of love my Sundays.

    1. Your Sundays sound sooooo nice. What kind of art do you do? I love getting to the grocery store so early that no one is there! In fact, I have a couple things to pick up today and I am kind of mad I didn't get up earlier so I could go before work hehehe. For some odd reason, I cooked on Sat. instead of Sun. this week.

    2. I signed up for a multi media art class called 52 Weeks of Creative Intention. Each week we have a reading that she posts followed by a coordinating art project. I use all media (acrylic paints, water color paints, pencils, pastels, oil crayons, markers, embellishments, etc). At the end (only 4 more weeks) we have all these pages we can bind into a journal. I do love it. It prompted me to be creative again (I took art all through school) and I love having something "non running" on my rest days that clears my mind and helps me lose myself for however long I am working on the project.

  2. Oooh, that work drama that you can't share...Do I know my half of it! I think all teachers can at least guess where you're coming from haha.

We have two normal work days this week, then we're off Weds-Fri. Love it!

Is the albino squirrel famous?? He's so cute!

    1. Enjoy your long vacation, Ali! :) I know you deserve it. The albino squirrel is famous in OUR house but I don't know about the rest of the hood. :) I guess we will find out!

  3. I can't wait for to have Thurs and Fri off. I'm going up to visit my mom for Thanksgiving and I haven't seen her in months!

You KNOW I am running in shorts. I just got back from a rare morning run and it was 78 degrees and 80% humidity. YUCK!!!!!

That 10-miler looks awesome!!!! Way to go Meg! Those splits are actually beautiful. If they were mine I would print them out on a piece of paper and hang it in the living room.

    2. My mom lives up in Inverness, FL - sort of north-central Florida. The weather up there is usually a lot cooler and she has some really nice trails in walking distance from her house that I love to run on when I have the chance. I'm looking forward to running up there!

  5. Awesome splits for your run--LOVE the 6:42. I was thinking (while on the treadmill this am) that I would like to do ONE mile SOMETIME that had a 6 in front of it! Way to go!

Cool squirrel. We had a completely black chipmunk for a while...Then we had an owl. End of chipmunk.

  6. Congrats to your friends who got engaged. How exciting! I have never seen AHS but have heard people love it. It was beautiful on my run yesterday, even though I did not wear shorts, but today I think I can. -L

  7. I haven't watched AHS freak show yet but I've seen all of the other seasons. Can you please explain the aliens to me in season 2. I still don't understand that part at all and it's driving me crazy!!

    1. Unfortunately, I CANNOT explain the aliens! I swear, Season 1 was the best and only one that made the *most* sense!

  8. OMG I can't believe you got a picture of the albino squirrel! When I was over the other week, I couldn't believe there was one, let alone 2 in your neighborhood. Glad you got a picture.

Also, totally jealous of your schedule this week! Mine is:
    Monday-normal day
    Tuesday-normal day
Wednesday- half day, but a 'reward day' our kiddos earned, so they will be CRAZY! My 'reward station' is a 20 minute hike outside! Hope they bring their coats and boots because no way will I be able to deal with them inside!
