Thinking Out Loud!

Thank you to Amanda @ Running With Spoons for this Thinking Out Loud link up!

1. On Tuesday night, my 4th graders performed their spring concert. The chorus, show choir, and recorder band performed. I am SO proud of their performance! I wish I could post a video or picture, but obviously I cannot. All I can say is that my heart is so full right now!

2. MUENSTER CHEESE. Have you heard of this? Of course you have. But we just started buying it and I am hooked!

3. In case you didn't know, I eat A LOT of chicken breast. I go through a Giant Valu Pack in a little over a week. It may surprise you to know I probably only made myself chicken once or twice. That's right. Paul is my CHICKEN MAKIN' MAN! Now that it has been warmer out, he has been grilling my chicken and seasoning it with all kinds of good stuff. I feel like I am eating at Outback like twice a day!

Not only does he make me chicken, but he'll dress up like a NERD with me for Halloween!

4. It's Teacher Appreciation Week! The PTO at our school has been providing all kinds of goodies for us in the faculty lounge this week. Yesterday it was DUNKIN' DONUTS COFFEE. I went back for seconds and thirds!

Funny Teacher Week Ecard: Sorry your students drive nicer cars than you.

Well, they can't drive yet. But my students definitely go on nicer vacations than I do!

5. Dare I say the weeks have been flying by? We're down to 17.5 student days left in the school year! I cannot believe summer is right around the corner. Sometimes I feel like I am wishing my life away. Counting down the days until the weekend... counting down the days until summer... This is LIFE. I should embrace it. It shouldn't be the everlasting countdown until the next "good" thing comes along.

That being said... 65 days until HAWAIIIIIIIIII!
What's your favorite kind of cheese?
Do you like grillin'?
Tell me something random... Think Out Loud!

  2. Confession: I have a fear of working with meat because I'm always afraid that I'll cook it wrong and give myself food poisoning. When I first moved out of home, my mom would actually cook chicken for me and bring it over lol. I've gotten over my fear well enough to cook it myself, but I still prefer when someone else does it.

    1. I am sort of weird about that when I make ground turkey because you can SEE the pink inside. Luckily Paul usually makes that as well! I'm in charge of the sweets. :)

  3. Happy Teacher Appreciation week! It isn't as special here in Canada for us since this isn't 'our' week, but I will live vicariously through you and your free Dunkin Donuts coffee! I'm almost out of my stash I bought when we were in the states :(

Meg: Motivate me to blog again!!!

  4. Congrats to your students!! And yay Hawaii!! I've been eating TONS of chicken myself. I grill practically one per night on my george foreman grill. Just easier that way. Muenster cheese reminds me so much of growing up in Michigan. We'd eat it tailgating before Michigan football games.

    1. Ooh we have a GF grill! Paul uses that sometimes too. Ever see The Office ep when Michael Scott burns his foot on his GF grill? Hehehe

  5. I cannot stand cooking raw meat. I always buy pre-cooked meat or make Adam cook. Although very early in our relationship he made chicken piccata and gave me food poisoning - it was awful. I guess I really liked him since I continued to see him and 10 years later still eat the chicken he cooks!

Congrats to your students on their performance, and congrats to their teacher for getting them prepared :)

    1. Now that is a rock solid marriage! Never had food poisoning, but I am sure if Paul gave it to me at this point I would forgive him and still allow him to cook chicken for me. :)

  6. Congrats to your little ones for the performance. I never thought about the countdown, I don't like that, and need to focus more are living up each moment. I love grilling, we do steaks once a week.

Random - I don't have any social media, unless my blog counts. Does that make me weird lol

  10. I once had a friend that was a vegetarian and one year she said she was gonna start eating meat, all except chicken! She said she could never eat something that was so slimy to prepare. That's all I think about now when I make chicken so I don't make it that often! That's my random thought for ya!

    1. lol slimy chicken! It is pretty gross. And I do feel major guilt because I LOVE animals and I know not all chickens are treated humanely... But I still eat chicken, so I am a hippocrate!

  11. I'm jealous of your teacher appreciation week stuff! In my school, teacher appreciation got overlooked in the stress of the seniors' last week. But I guess having them done is a gift in itself!

    1. I think elem. teachers get a little more appreciation perks due to the PTO. I have a feeling parents might not be as involved with stuff like that at the HS level. Either way, Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

  13. Hello! I haven't commented in foreverrrrr!
I'm so happy you had a fabulous spring concert. Ours is next week and the kids are super excited. ESPECIALLY when I told them today, I would be attending :)
I hate counting down to "the next big thing." I want to enjoy life and embrace it as well. I don't always want to be searching for the "next big thing." I want to enjoy the in between!
