I'm a 'Lil Liebster.. again!

Heather @ Run Like a G nominated me for a Liebster Award! So did Kristina @ Blog About Running & Life. Thank you ladies for the nomination! You can read my responses to the questions from the first time I was nominated for the award here

Here are the answers to the questions given to me by Heather!

1. What state do you live in?
Pennsylvania

A view from a PA run.

2. You won a free entry to ANY marathon in the world, which would you choose?
As long as airfare and accommodations were also included, the Stinson Beach 50k. (I know, not a marathon.) It's not the entry price I'm worried about- it's only $70. It's the airfare getting there! I have run on the Dipsea trail before and hiked through Muir Woods... to actually spend more time there exploring/racing would be a dream come true!

I was running up the Dipsea Trail toward Muir woods.
When I turned around, this is what I saw!

3. Will you run a marathon?
I have run several. I just ran Boston and am recovering from that.

4. What does training look like for you when you are training for a race?
It totally depends on the race! If it's a marathon, normally I just plan my long runs and do whatever I feel like during the week.

5. What is your favorite course to run?
I love trail running. Anything in the woods would be my favorite!

6. How many hours of sleep do you get?
7-9

7. What is your favorite spring/summer activity?
Playing cards on the back porch with my hubby.

8. What is something on your bucket list?
Several vacations... including Europe, Alaska, California, Florida, and Colorado.

9. What is your favorite food?
Ice cream!

We have a hearty appetite!

10. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Anything with cake/cookie pieces in it. *See above.

11. What is your favorite quote?

"Poor is the man whose pleasure depends on the permission of another." -Madonna

Here are the questions given to me by Kristina!

1. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and who would you bring with you? I would start my Hawaii trip a few months early and head there with my hubby Paul.
2. What was the name of your first pet, and how did you come up with it? I love the holiday Christmas and thought it would be a really cool name for a cat. It turns out, he totally lives up to his name! He is a special little boy.

Shouldn't he be a cat model!?

3. If you could run with any one person at your next race, who would it be and why?  My older brother, because it would be fun to try to keep up with him!
4. If the fire alarm in your house goes off, which three things do you take with you as you run out of the house?  Assuming Paul can fend for himself... Christmas (cat), Jelly (cat), Basic's ashes. (Cat).

5. Where did you go on your honeymoon (or where did you go on your favorite vacation)? We didn't go on a honeymoon, we bought a house instead! But 4 years later we went to San Francisco and called it our honeymoon. Best vay-cay, hands down!

6. What is your favorite beverage? Alcoholic or nonalcoholic. Coffee, red wine, or scotch.
7. What is your absolute favorite TV show of all time? Seinfeld. It's a classic.
8. What is your favorite cross training activity? Zumba is fun when my knee cooperates.
9. Are you hoping to PR at any distances this year? Which ones? I don't see a PR in my near future. I'm still in recovery mode. I had a lot of great PRs last year though, so I can't complain.

10. If you had to give up one of your senses (hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, feeling) which would it be and why? Smell for sure. I think it would be the easiest one to lose and still live a normal life. Although, they say things don't taste as good when you can't smell them!
Thanks again to Heather and Kristina for nominating me! I had fun answering your questions and looking back at old pictures.
What race would you run if entry/accommodations were free?
Favorite quote?
Something on your bucket list?

    1. I want to college near Punxsy! I sure envy your Florida weather but you are right, PA hills are where it's at!

  2. Love that picture of you on the trail!

Chrissy should be a cat model! Cecil would buy the things Chrissy models!

If entry/accommodations were free I would do an international race -- maybe the Big Five Marathon in south Africa. You get to see great wildlife during the race!

"You’ll be rewarded with up-close views of antelope, giraffes and zebras—one leg of the race even takes runners through lion territory. The start time of the event depends on the location of the big five game (lions, African elephants, Cape buffalo, leopards and rhinos) on race day, so you know it’s the real deal." - Forbes

    1. Wow that marathon sounds AWESOME! The trail picture is from one of my favorite sections on the AT. For some reason, that small little stretch is so green and looks like it is from a magazine!

  3. Great Q&A. Bucket list is an ultra marathon. It just seems like you have to be a bad ass to run them lol

  5. Went to college in PA so it has a place in my heart. Of course I'm in NJ now so not really that far. Ultra is on my bucket list as well ;)

  6. That 50k looks gorgeous. Adding it to my bucket list, too. Also, if you ever take that Colorado trip, I know this really cool redhead who would show you around. :)

  7. I'd pick the WDW Marathon! I'm running it anyway, but I would love if I would be able to run it for free! My bucket list item is a horse and carriage ride through Central Park, which I hear I would have to do soon before the Mayor puts a ban on it!

  8. If entry/accommodations were free? Probably the Maui marathon or Big Sur.

  9. I loved your answers!!!! I actually think it is more common now for people to not go on a honeymoon. When people get engaged/married, I never think to ask where they went or would like to go. Totally random comment but I know a lot of people who didn't have a honeymoon and used the money for other things. I like mini-moons better :)

    1. It's just more financially responsible that way. My parents gave us money when we got engaged and said we could use it for whatever we wanted. We used a very small amount for a very small wedding and the rest for our home. I think it is important to do what works for you not what everyone else does. Sure, everyone else may go on a honeymoon, but everyone else may be in debt, too :)
