Running Streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak!

I ran three days in a row this week! I'M STREAKING! On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I ran 5 miles before work. I felt good during my runs and my knee/IT band felt great after. Apparently, running doesn't irritate my knee much anymore. This makes me very happy. I love running before work. I don't have to get up as early as I do when I go to the gym, I get to shower at home, I get some fresh air, and I just feel like me.

Friday's run was interesting. I checked Accuweather the night before and it said it was not going to rain between 6am-7am. However, I woke up to torrential downpour and flash flood warnings. I ran anyway. You can't get wetter than wet, right? I was running through 8 inch deep water at some points while I ran on my neighborhood roads. It was crazy! But I had an awesome Survivor Re-cap pod cast to listen to so it was all good.

I'm going to run today too! This will be 4 days in a row! I would like to go farther than 5 miles but we'll see. If my body is tired I'm not going to push it. I will be utterly content with another 5 miles in the bag.

I haven't run for more than two consecutive days since mid January. Mainly because I was preparing for Boston and trying not to overdo it. But now there's nothing to prepare for. I can just do what feels good. And it feels GREAT!

I know a running steak of 3 days is not long! Do you know your longest running streak?

  1. Whenever I hear the word 'streak' I think of Will Farrell's Old School line "We're going streaking!!!" (when he's naked, LOL). Awesome job on your streak! So exciting that you're not having any pain!!!! I think my longest streak is 10 days...nothing spectacular, but that's it. :)

  3. i'm a survivor fan too!!!! i don't know about you, but i have LOVED this season! i was getting a little annoyed with all the recycled contestants. i loved the B, B, B split and it's been one dramatic moment after another. as long as tony doesn't win, i'll be ok :)

i've never been good at streaking. i love me my days off :)

    1. I love this season as well! I will be satisfied with a Tony or Spencer win- but I am rooting for Tony! I hate Cass. I like Woo but don't think he deserves anything. Can't wait until Wed!!!

  4. Woop! I bet you feel sooo good! I miss the days when I run before work, but for me that means going at 4:30 am, and I just didn't have the motivation this year. You're lucky that you can go at 6 and still be at work on time! (I have to be there at 7:30.)

    1. Wow 4:30 is early!! I get to work at 7:55, but it only takes me 15 minutes to get ready because I lay everything out the night before!

  5. To be honest I just got some really bad news which made running in the rain seem like a piece of cake!
