Weekend Wrap Up!

Ah, Monday.
Would you like to know how I woke up this morning?
Jelly, my 14.5lb cat jumped from Paul's stomach onto MY stomach.
"Owwwwwwwwwwww!" I cried!
Jelly scampered off the bed.
"What!?" asked Paul.
"Jelly jumped on my STOMACH!"
"From were?"
"From YOUR stomach!"
His new tactic to wake me up 45 minutes before my alarm goes off worked perfectly.

Happy Monday, Y'all!!!

My alarm did not go off Friday morning. Luckily, I have a cat named Christmas who is more than happy to let me know if his breakfast is not served on time!

I had a quiet, relaxing in-service day at work. The best part about in-service is getting a whole hour for lunch! I can get so many errands done during that time! My eyebrows are finally waxed. I feel like I lost 5lbs of eyebrow hair.

Quick RANT!!! Why did the place I got my eyebrows waxed ask for my phone number and then got taken aback when I say “No thank you.”? Do they need to have my phone number in order to wax my eyebrows? Are they planning to call me? Because if they ever called me, I would never, ever go back. (I forgot to mention in my ABCs of Me... :S" could be for STUBBORN!)

RANT OVER.

I also went to Giant at lunch to stock up on some Red Velvet Cake Ice Cream. This stuff is heavenly and apparently a limited edition. I panicked and grabbed every carton they had left… which was only four.

This should last 2 weeks, if we're lucky.

After work we went on some errands and spent the same amount of money at Aldis that we spent at the liquor store. Is that bad?

Then played Rummy. It was a pretty wild Friday night.

I wanted to sleep in on Saturday but it just didn't happen! I did have a leisurely morning before I went on my "long" run. For the full recap, go here, but the short version is...

That afternoon, Paul and I went on the most pointless trip to Gettysburg ever. We did go in the museum, which was definitely cool, but when we took the self guided auto tour of the battlefields, we got behind a huge coach bus that was only going 10 miles and hour. Using the map, we found a short cut to try to get in front of the bus, but we took a wrong turn, so by the time we got to Little Round Top, the bus was still in front of us. I wanted to get out at little Round Top, but we took another wrong turn and missed the parking and ended up right by the on ramp for 15 North. At that point we were so frustrated we just hopped on the highway and headed home. No pictures, no anything.

I have lived 35 minutes from Gettysburg for the past 9 years and the only time I have ever been there was on a 4th grade field trip back in 1992. Crazy, huh!?

Saturday night's dinner: ground turkey, roasted cauliflower, wheat thins

I know it looks like cat food but it was really good!
I need a new camera.

I ran again on Sunday! Don't worry, it was part of my plan. My pace was a bit faster than Saturday but there were less hills. My knee felt stronger and my leg was not tight like it was on Saturday, so that is good. I finished with 15 minutes of stretching, which I think is going to be my new thing!

Feeling hopeful before 6 miles!

Success!

Kissy was excited for me.

Later that day, we met some friends for trivia and drinks at Arooga's. I won the first game but got dead last in the second game! Usually I get better at games the more wine I drink but not that night, apparently!

Oh, I don't know if you're interested in music, but my husband writes songs on his computer downstairs. I don't know how he does it... he has a program but he also records the guitar on his own,  so it's sort of a combo of stuff he actually plays and stuff he writes on the computer. Here it is, if you're interested!

(The link will take you to Sound Cloud.)

I will leave you with a random shot of Jelly...
It's hard to blog when he is on my lap!

I hope you had a great weekend!

  1. That's quite a hike up little round top, I'd suggest going when it's warmer out! We're going back in April on our way to SC!

  3. Nothing like waking up to a gut punch from a kitty haha! Ouch!

I hate when places ask for my email or phone number. I think it's so they can track tourism here (through area codes), and send coupons but like...NO. Leave me alone people. Just because I shop there doesn't mean I want to be your new best friend!

  4. Oh my god, I was going to comment that the smiley faces on your GPS were making me smile until I got to the cat faces when I laughed out loud in my quiet office! :) :)

  5. Why can I never find that type of ice cream here in Canada?!?!?!? Good call on buying all 4!

Look at your running! I think you are 'back' like nobody's business. :D

I love when you put stories and pictures of your cats on the blog. :) Lola sometimes randomly kicks me when we're sleeping in bed. She's also sleeping when she does this. It frightens the life out of me, but then i laugh since it's cute.
