Weekend Wrap Up! (And WINNERS from my 2 Truths & 1 Lie post!)

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

But first... on Saturday, I posted a contest- 2 Truths & 1 Lie.

Annnnnnd... we have a... WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER!

Congratulations, to Heather @ Girl Goes Running.

She correctly guessed my lie!

1.   I was an extra in the movie Girl Interrupted. <--Truth.

2.   I quit track in high school after 5 practices. <-- Truth.

3.   I wrote for the student newspaper at IUP- The Penn. <--- LIE! LIE! LIE!

Most of you guessed #2. But I did join track in 10th grade and I did quit after only 5 practices. It was not a good experience. At like the second or third practice, the coach made me run 5 miles. I had never run more than 1 mile and she made me run 5 FREAKING MILES!!! What was she thinking? I quit, of course!

I did not write for the newspaper at IUP. At IUP, I basically just studied and watched Forensic Files in my room. Most of my workouts were on the elliptical with the occasional run on the treadmill. I was really a hermit. I had 2 close friends in college and I only keep in touch with 1 (very casually) via Facebook. I guess I missed out on the whole "college friends" experience, but that was my own fault for being such a hermit.

Back to our regularly scheduled blog post.

I didn't do a whole lot this weekend! My activities and thoughts would be best broken down into list format for this week's wrap up, so that is what you are getting! Hope you have a fabulous Monday and a good start to your week!

1. The wonderful thing about Friday is that I got to hang out with two of my gal pals who I haven't seen in a long time. We talked, we laughed, we went for a late night walk...and we ate a lot of bean dip! I had a blast!

2. On Saturday, I went on my longest run in several months!

3. Our new camera arrived this weekend! Now my dinners won't look like cat food when I post them on my blog! This camera is now known as the "Hawaii Camera" (since we're taking it on our trip). In the meantime, I've been testing it out on the most beautiful specimens...

4. Speaking of Hawaii, I took a trip there on Sunday morning. Not a real trip, just planning. But whenever I plan, I feel like I was there. I seriously got wrapped into trip planning for a good 3 hours. I did some itinerary tweaks. It's gonna be good.

Oh, you know, just the lobby of our hotel.

5. Sunday was also a complete rest day. I had a rest day coming, plus I can't stand the gym on the weekends. I did do one thing- as many push ups in a row as I could do. I made it to 45, which is only 6 more than I could do several months ago. I went until I was shaking and making weird noises. Paul came to check on me. I think he thought I was reading 50 Shades of Grey.

6. We had the most delicious pizza for dinner. Boy did we clean up!

Yup, we ate all of that ourselves!
Do you like my kissing kitty cat salt and pepper shakers???

Tell me something wonderful about your weekend!
How are you in the push up department?
Did you play any sports in high school?

  1. Dang, I realized I guessed 2 but in my comment put that I could see you quitting it, so I clearly believed 2. I must have forgotten the rules halfway into my guess hehe!

Your hotel looks crazy beautiful. I'm sooo jealous of your trip. I can't wait to someday visit Hawaii!

  2. I'm so excited for you for your trip! We also had bought a Hawaii vacation package that we need to use with in the next year but trying to find an extended length of time when everyone is free has been difficult! Where are you guys staying?

    1. That is awesome! Do you have a particular island you must use it for? We are staying at the Hapuna Prince Beach Hotel on The Big Island. It's about 45 minutes north of Kona. We'll be there 5 nights, then we're going to go stay at 2 nights at a cheap hotel on the "rainy" side of the island in Hilo. This is where we will visit the volcanoes and waterfalls.

  3. I played soccer, basketball, and softball all the way through school and did swimming, soccer, and dance outside of school too. I was your standard jock in high school, ponytail and soccer gear to school every day, no make up ever. I think my school imploded when they saw me in makeup and a dress at prom.

    1. Wow, you were busy! The only after school activities I did were the musicals, piano and voice lessons. I was not athletic at ALL in high school... except I could dance!

  5. I'm totally on the same page as Ali! When I was reading the top part of your blog, I was like DUH - she QUIT! I remember you making a comment on my blog about running after high school and since I saw #2 my mind went to that! Oops! I think it is pretty cool that you were an extra in a movie!

  6. Yay for a new camera! I should really invest in one instead of using my phone for all of my pictures. So incredibly jealous of your Hawaii trip I want to visit there so bad! I can't wait to see all of your pictures!

    1. My phone doesn't take good pics so we were using our video camera to take still shots- it was pretty bad for awhile hehe.

  7. (Hmmm not sure where my comment went? Sorry if this comes through again)

That 50 shades line about your pushups is hilarious!

I'm so excited for you to go on the Hawaii trip just so I can see your pictures. I bet it is going to be fantastic!

I played volleyball because it only required running 1/2 mile every practice. I played bball one year but running suicides felt suicidal so I didn't play the next year!

  8. FOURTY-FIVE push ups in a row?!?!! I definitely can only do about 15 and then want to lay down and die. That's simply amazing!

  9. I was so NOT into sports in high school. Wow, having things changed since then ! Had a great weekend - very productive, ate well, caught up on sleep. I can do about 25 push ups, on my knees. 10 or 15 on my feet.

  10. YES!!! I never win those types of questions!! I rock ;) LOL.

I posted my long run schedule in my reply section of comments but here it is again in case you didn't see:
    2:00, 3/1 This Sunday 30? lol
    20 miles easy (April 6)
    12 miles easy (April 13)
    2 miles easy (April 20)

I really truly laughed out loud when I read you #5!!!!

  11. Haha, yeah, I ran cross country and track in high school too, and it was the same thing...I had never run more than a mile and they wanted us running a crap load of miles. It used to seem like 20 to me, but was more like probably five or six, lol. I kept with it, although I absolutely hated it. I wish I had pushed myself like I do now! I probably would be wicked awesome at running now if I pushed myself back then! Oh well, all that matters is that I really enjoy it. :-)

    1. Silly coaches. Had they not made us go from zero to sixty in a week, we could have been like All-Americans by now!

  12. After being impressed by the number of push ups I couldn't stop laughing at your final comment on number 5 !!
