Well my friends, this post is going to be quick and dirty since everything has happened in a whirlwind!!!!!

GOOD NEWS!!!!!

My ortho is 99.9999999999999999999% certain I have a plica.

Solution? Knee scope! Outpatient, 15 minute surgery. Minimal recovery time. If all goes well, I WILL BE AT THE START OF THE BOSTON MARATHON ON APRIL 21ST, 2014!!!!

I am soooooooooooooo relieved to have an official diagnosis and an action plan.

When I told my ortho I wanted to run Boston in April, he asked, "Well, whatcha doing on Thursday?"

ANSWER: GETTING MY KNEE FIXED!!!

You all know I've been complainy and worried about my knee since, oh, JULY!!! I am so happy to have an action plan.

I can't believe I'm having surgery THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I'll be able to start blogging about actually RUNNING soon!!!!????

WAKA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Tell me something good going on in YOUR LIFE!!!

  1. Hey that's great! Normally I would say "so sorry you have to have surgery", but in this case it sounds like a good thing. What will your recovery time be like? I finally got a Chiro appt for my IT band issue!

    1. I know, who is excited to have surg???? Recovery is taking it easy for a few days and then I'll be back on my feet! They are just taking out inflamed tissue pretty much... Good luck with your IT band! Does your chiro do ART?

  2. That's awesome Meg! I can't believe how quick the recovery time is! Keep us posted! Something good? I'm getting a deep tissue massage tonight. Not really in the standard budget, but I have a small "health fund." I think this counts, right?

    1. Thanks Erin! Well the good part about being a new reader is hopefully you missed all of my complaining about it and now I'll get better and actually write about running from time to time. ;)

  10. Thank you! Boston training will be minimal! It will be the "how to simply run 26.2 miles without injuring yourself and doing nothing else special" plan!!! :) Hey I could write a book. :)
