Maren & Randy

I feel pretty lucky to have lots of friends. I have friends I met at work, friends I met through running, and friends I met through blogging. All of these friends I met as an adult.

As far as childhood friends, I have about two friends I keep in touch with regularly from high school. I do not have any friends I keep in touch with from college. Although here is a throwback picture of me and my three best college buddies... I haven't talked to them in forever!

When I think back to fun times with friends, I do not think of high school or college. I think of my days doing musicals with local community theaters. This is where I made some of my best friends.

Maren and Randy are my two closest friends who I have known the longest. You have probably seen them on the blog before! I met Maren and Randy while doing community theater.

I met Maren when I was about 15. She was helping out with lighting for a show I was in. We both met Randy when we were 16 and we were in a production of Annie. Through the years, I have performed in many shows with Maren and Randy. They have both directed shows that I choreographed. We have taken crazy beach trips together when we were in our early 20s. I just have lots of great memories with both of them and I love them so much. Here are some pictures of me and my pals throughout the years...

One reason I like Maren and Randy so much is because they are funny! They have always been hilarious and not afraid to be silly.

At a cast party... Randy couldn't swim, but he could dip his crutch in the water!

We used to go out after musical rehearsal! Those were the days!

Remember those crazy beach trips I mentioned? Here are some of our shenanigans...

First of all, I remember loading the car was a huge ordeal. We had a lot of stuff...

Eventually we got everything loaded and Maren drove us to the beach!

Seacrets!

Hmmm... we may have been drinking. Don't worry, we were of age!

Maren, Randy and I recently got together to have dinner with our partners. I'm so glad we still make time to see each other after all of these years!

Do you still keep in touch with high school or college friends?

Who is your oldest friend you still keep in touch with regularly?

  1. So fun to take a walk down memory lane with you. Great friends make life just wonderful! I keep in touch with one college friend, Michelle. She's my soul sister -- SO much alike (and our husbands are alike too and actually knew each other before Michelle and I met). Since I live in the town I grew up in I do sometimes see jr high/high school friends but we don't hang out. Except Michelle all my friends were met after college.

    1. Does Michelle live close by? Is she one of your friends you travel with and do girls weekends with?

  2. Awww, what great friends you have! I do have a friend that I keep in touch with via Facebook from grade school. In fact, we were born in the same hospital, a day apart - so I guess you can say we've been together our whole lives! I don't really have any college friends... other than Alan. I pretty much just hung out with him. And then married him. That worked out well! ;)

    1. Yes, I think you hit the jackpot with Alan! Were you guys in the same classes and that is how you met?
