I have ugly feet, but they take me to beautiful places.

I have ugly feet.

Callouses, blisters, scars, dead skin, ragged toenails...
I have them all.

But you know what? These feet took me to so many beautiful places!

My feet took me...

... to the top of Camel's Hump in Vermont.

... to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.

... through 26.2 miles of the Boston Marathon... twice.

... to the top of The Incline in Manitou Springs, Colorado.

... to the Appalachian Trail in three different states.

... through 50 miles of the Bull Run 50 Miler.

... to a trail race on Mount Tamalpais in CA.

... to Tennessee Valley Beach in Marin County, CA.

... to The Grand Canyon.

... to Tent Rocks in New Mexico.

... to the giant redwoods in Northern California.

I'm thankful for everywhere my feet have taken me over the past 36 years!

Any blemish they may incur is earned!
Tell me where your feet have taken you!

  1. This kind of reminds me of Cars 2, when Mater doesn't want his dents fixed. They're too valuable, and he wants to remember how he came by those dents.

I climbed the stairs of the Eiffel Tower since the elevator line was way too long. Get your walking shoes on and take the stairs! Come to think of it, I did the same at St Paul's in London. There is no elevator.

    2. I don't actually know. There are three different levels, and the first and second are accessible by stairs. We spent a lot of time on each one.

  2. Your feel are not ugly! But I get what you are saying, embrace the scars and the wounds. I had a similar conversations with myself about my flabby belly the other day.

    1. If you saw them in real life you would be horrified! :) Yes we have to embrace all of our scars and changes in our bodies as it means it's a life well lived!

  3. Your feet are fine, girl! There is some foot fetish person out there who may stumble upon this post and really love that last pic!

I don't love my feet either but I'm also grateful for them. I am especially grateful for them recently because I got a random blister about a week ago and it hurt like heck, so I am grateful to have non-blistered feet!
