Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you had a great weekend. Mine started out great, then I got a stomach bug and I got freaking knocked out. It was terrible. Sorry that my wrap up kind of peters out toward the end... I wrote the beginning on Saturday morning before I got sick and the rest as I was recovering. I just didn't have it in me to write much!

Oh Friday, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! The weeks have been flying by around here. Not that I'm complaining!

I woke up and did some upper body lifting, but my shoulder felt a little sore. It hurts at night, so it has to be related to how I am sleeping on it. I can't think of any other cause.

When I went outside to get my stability ball (I have been leaving it in the carport for DOC workouts) I realized it was so warm and humid outside. It really made me want to run. So I cut my lifting short and went out for 2 miles to test the 'ol hammy. IT FELT PERFECT.

But I stopped after 2 miles. Do you know how hard it is to stop after 2 miles when your body feels totally fine? But I'm glad I did.

This meme sums up my day at work:

When I got home, Paul and I opened some Buddy Boy wine and played cards on the back porch.

Then we had dinner and watched Colby. I fell asleep around 8pm with Jelly!

I ran 5 miles and my hammy felt fine. It didn't even start hurting as the day went on. I was so thankful!

That afternoon, Paul and I went to the Millersburg Cherry Blossom Festival. It was fun to hang out with my parents. We even got to see Tyler, Debby, and the kids for a little bit.

Paul and I went over to The Gallery on the Square to get his mom a gift for Mother's Day.

Then we went for a walk down to the river.

After hanging out at my parent's for a little, we went up to Broad Mountain Winery in Elizabethville. They moved their wine shop in town so we wanted to check it out. If you live in the area, I recommend you try this place out. They have wine, beer, cider, and cocktails. Something for everyone!

Then we went to Emily and Jake's to hang out and play games! We had so much fun catching up.

Annnnnnd that's where this all ends. I was up in the wee hours of Sunday morning puking. I was awake for about 6 hours on Sunday afternoon. Then I went to bed at 5pm and slept until 7am Monday morning. I was happy to do all that sleeping. My stomach was so nauseous and I wanted to sleep through that horrible feeling as much as possible. As I write this, it's Monday afternoon. I ate some oatmeal and toast. I'm trying to drink water because I didn't eat or drink for like 24 hours... which I know is not a good idea but I didn't want to have anything in my stomach to puke.
Tell me something fun you did this weekend!

    1. Thanks Karen. Luckily I haven't had a stomach bug in like a decade... but I forgot how bad they suck. :( Appetite is coming back today. I need to eat. I'm withering away.

    1. No it's not weird I like to see what other people are up to as well. I'm glad you enjoy the wrap ups although they're usually just cats, puzzles, and family!

  3. Did you like Cards Against Humanity? If so you should check out Funemployed:
    https://www.amazon.com/Funemployed-Interview-Actual-Absurd-Qualifications/dp/B01JF1VQY8

Basically one person in the group is hiring for a job, and the other people in the group pick up a card with crazy qualifications and then you interview them and they have to try to convince you to hire them based on their crazy qualifications. IDK if this sounds fun at all based on the description but it is haha!

    1. Wow that sounds like an interesting game! I'm not sure our regular game night friends would like it... I don't think Paul would like it... but me and my theater friends would like it!

    2. Oh yes I think you and your theater friends would have a blast! The funnier and more outgoing the group the better for sure.

  4. I hope you're feeling better. I got 3 stomach bugs this season and really don't want to repeat them. Great job on your runs, and yay! for your hammy feeling better. It's so hard to stop a run, but it's good to not push it.

  5. What do you think made you sick?

The Cherry Blossom festival looks really cool! were there food vendors?

That green top looks so great on you!! it almost makes me want to buy a green top.

I hope you are feeling better and can eat something soon! Stomach bugs are THE worst!

    1. I think I got the stomach bug and apparently you get it from ingesting someone's feces who already had it. UGH!!! Yes there was food at the festival. It was very small but my hometown so I go. Thanks! The green top was so cheap. I buy sleeveless ones when I see them because those are the kind I can wear my hydration pack with. Straight up tanks that expose my shoulders are what I prefer but if I wear my hydration pack with those, I chaffe.
