Weekly Workouts

Hola peeps!

I thought about running a trail race this morning but when I went to the website to check how much it costs, I saw there was no race day registration. Oops.

Here are my workouts!

Saturday- 6 miles in the rain. I didn't feel like running but it was my only choice for a workout that day (I was sore from lifting the day before) so I did it. It was cold! Like 56! I HAD TO WEAR A SHIRT!!!!

Sunday- 6 miles on the trail... in the rain. We went to Swatara State Park. I didn't feel like running. I was actually very tired (sleepy tired) and not feeling that great emotionally. But I ran for an hour and felt a little better when I was done. While I ran, Paul hiked.

Monday- Zumba! My favorite instructor, Zumba with Cat had a special Labor Day class at Olympic Skating Rink. It was only $5 and we all brought a donation of pads and tampons to donate to shelters in Houston. Someone Cat knew was driving a huge bus down with the donations. Zumba was EXHAUSTING. My knee hurt after because I was stupid and did the squats. But when the music is pumping I forget I can't do squats...

Tuesday- Lifting chest @ home. I was super sore from Zumba. Especially my ass. Even though I do glute work several times a week, apparently body weight squats are harder than anything I am doing. My torso also really hurt from this one song where she had as bending from side to side at the waist. I think it was supposed to be an ab workout, but instead, my torso got the workout.

Chest Press- 5x10x30lb
Push Ups- 10x10
Shoulder Press- 5x10x20lb
Tricep Dips- 5x15
Bicycle Crunches- 5x40
Stability Ball Sit Ups- 5x15x15lb
Stability Ball Pull Ins- 5x15
Planks- 5x1min
Hip/Glute exercises
Stretching

Wednesday- 6 miles in the rain. WHAT'S WITH THE RAIN!? I have to put my phone in a plastic baggie while I run... Also, I AM STILL SORE FROM ZUMBA!!!!

This is what I leave every morning to go for my run...

Now it's pitch dark in the morning for most of my run.

Thursday- 6 miles. Doo dee doo dee doo. Hey I actually ran a different route today. This is the first time since school started that I ran something than a 1.5 mile loop over and over again!

Friday- 6 miles. Back to my 1.5 mile loop.

How do you keep your phone dry when you run in the rain?

  1. Nice week of workouts! Bummer you can't run your race today :( I am in awe of how you can run the same loop each day (and the fact that you have to run it 4x per session). You know how bored I get (I am on map my run now creating a new route for myself!). I don't run w/ my phone and when I cycle and it starts raining it's in my pocket under my waterproof jacket so it's all good. But I would just do like you do and use a plastic baggie!

    1. It's all good, I didn't want to preregister I don't like having too many commitments! I don't know how I can run that same loop over and over again... I am weird!!!

  2. I actually do not run with my phone but I do run with music, and I put my ipod into a little sandwich baggie if it's raining. Truthfully... if it's bad enough for the baggie though, I will opt for treadmill. That sucks that the race did not have day-of registration... I don't know why races do that. Personally I don't like signing up too early either. I was signed up for one today and it got postponed due to the hurricane (which has changed courses and isn't going our way). I understand why it was postponed and support their decision, but now I wish I had just waited.

    1. I am glad the hurricane is not hitting you! What a relief. Yeah I was surprised there was no race day registration, but my fault for not taking note of that!

  3. Feel very lazy and cannot go for run while raining outside. I use small plastic pouch when its drizzling, and if its pouring heavy I rest on that day.

    1. I sometimes take a rest day on rainy days too. It's nice to stay cozy inside.

  4. I havent run in really bad rain in a long time but I've used plastic bags before. I got a new iPhone about a month ago which is support be water resistant, but I don't think I want to test that out!

    1. I know! When I see people with waterproof phones or cases, I still get really nervous for them!

  5. It was so rainy and cold on Saturday!! I can't believe you ran!! Amazing!

I keep my phone dry, by staying inside with it. It takes a lot to get me to run when it's more than drizzle.
