Race on Sunday- The Dam Half!

I'm running a trail race on Sunday FOR FUN! It's called the Dam Half.

I am very excited. After my scare on the trail a couple days ago, I decided I am never running trail alone again! Hopefully I will be around a lot of people during this race. My friend Tammy told me that she and her husband saw a bear at RB Winter State Park (where the race is) a few weeks ago. So yeah, I made a mental note to stick with a pack of people during this race!

I did not train. All I have been doing are 6 mile loops around my neighborhood. I'll be fine. If I need to walk, I'll do it. And I will probably need to because LOOK AT THE ELEVATION PROFILE!

But you know what, if I can do the Table Rock, I can do the Damn Half!

My goal is to have a fun morning in the woods. I hope I am hungry at the end because there is going to be pizza, chicken, mac and cheese, pasta salad, and corn bread. YUM!!! I think I am just as excited for the food as I am about running!
Have you ever run the Dam Half?
What's the best food you ever had after a race?

  3. Good luck! Funny that you mentioned the food at the race - my family is all about the post race foods too! "isn't that the race where we got those big cookies?"

  4. That race sounds awesome with the post-race food- and after a half marathon, I'm always crazy hungry. The elevation profile looks crazy but if your only priority is to have fun, go for it (which I think you should, trail races are all about fun anyway).

    1. It should be fun, even with the crazy elevation. It can't be worse than the first three miles of Table Rock!

  5. That's just mean to put a hill like that after mile 10. I think I'd walk up that thing.
