Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday!
I hope you had a busy weekend if that's what you wanted.
I hope you had a relaxing weekend if that's what you wanted.
Mine was just the right amount of being out and about paired with being home.

I wanted to sleep in on Friday morning, but there was heavy rain that woke me up! Oh well, it's never bad to get an early start, right?

Jelly hid under the bed during the heavy rain, but finally he showed his face.

I watched a lot of news this morning. Shit is going down. Are you following????

While I watched, I did a puzzle.

Then I headed to the gym and rode the arc trainer.

After that, I scrubbed moss off the cement next to our carport. I'm really upping the look of the outside of our house!

The rest of the day was basically spent bustling around and making sure everything is ready for our upcoming trip.

 This can't be comfortable!?

Adult Lunchable! Moscato, sharp cheddar, ham, and wheat thins.

Oh, I had time to do another puzzle...

I am ashamed at my lack of doing anything productive this morning. I watched a lot of news and colored this:

I made up for my laziness by going for a 6 miler around my hood. Then I did a lot of yard work.

That evening, we went up to Millersburg to go out to eat with my parents. We were celebrating me and Paul's birthdays! We went to Swing. I had salmon and it was divine.

Then we went back to my parent's house. My mom showed us her studio (my older bedroom!) where she works on her hats and my dad played some of his vinyls for us.

Check out the hat my mom let me have! She bought it at a flea market to use the feathers for the hats she makes, but I liked it so much that she let me have it!

I'm going to write a post about the cool hats my mom makes, so look for that in the next couple weeks! Or check out her Facebook page right now!

When I got home, I wanted to do the puzzle my mom got me for my birthday, but I was going to be doing a puzzle at my cousin's house the next day, so I decided to color instead.

I did some major lifting because it is going to be awhile until I lift again.

That afternoon, we headed to my counsin's house for a puzzle contest! We both did the same 1000 piece puzzle and it was a race to see who could get done first!

Cousin Stephanie and I have different strategies. She likes to do the edges first and then just picks out the pieces she wants. I sort the entire thing and then start putting it together.

Stephanie acquired the lead first but I ultimately pulled ahead and won!

 Steph wasn't too far behind.

The official puzzle clock!!!!

We didn't leave until close to 11 o'clock. We took one break of about 45 minutes for dinner, but that's it. I don't think I ever did a 1000 piece puzzle in that short of a time frame!

While we puzzled, Paul hung out with Cousin Ken and their kids. Steph and Ken's kids are smart, silly, polite, and fun to be around!

Now it's nearly midnight and I'm bone tired! Puzzling is hard! Time for bed!
Tell me something fun you did this weekend!
Do you like to color or puzzle?
What do you think of the hat? Honest opinion! I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!

  1. Okay honest opinion on the hat is that it's interesting but I wouldn't wear it out of the house. Like, it sort of looks like a bad wig. BUT if you like it then I think you should wear it around the house! Or out of the house. I mean live your best life and if that includes wearing the hat out wear it out! Waaaaay back in the day I used to have this insane orange lipstick that was basically Halloween lipstick but I loved it so I wore it around the house sometimes :D

That puzzle competition sounds fun! You always come up with fun weekend ideas!

    1. When I was a kid, I always wanted long hair. So I had an orange long haired wig that I remember I wore out to dinner with my family! The hat looks better in person but it IS interesting. I love it! I am going to wear it out of the house but I need somewhere fancy to wear it to.

    2. Hahahah what's up with orange being a thing! If only we lived close together and could go out and do something together where I wear orange lipstick and you wear an orange wig!

  2. I love puzzles! I enjoy coloring, but I never remember that fact about myself so I never end up doing it, really. This weekend I did yard work (making some loosely defined paths in the woods at my house), and spent some time with friends in Boston. Oh, also, we got an aerial run thing set up for our 4.5 month old puppy so we can tire her out in the front yard. This now means we have a red cable running through the air the entire length of the front yard, but puppy happiness > aesthetics, I do believe!

    1. Yes, for sure, the happiness of our fur babies trumps everything! We have a litterbox in our dinning room. We move it when we have company. :) Go on amazon and order yourself some colored pencils and a coloring book! :)

  3. I do NOT like puzzles. I rage quit every single time after about 5 minutes. I'm glad you had fun though! I'm excited about your trip!

    1. Is that something that would interest Rick or are puzzles purely for fun and not for sport? :)

    2. I will ask him but I am guessing no. He likes to work on them in the winter, with some sports in the background and he never sits for a super long time. He's much more relaxed about it.

  5. I like the hat, but not the feather coming out of it! But you are rocking it, so what do I know?

Congratulations on winning the puzzle race! Does your cousin have to buy you a bottle of wine now for winning?

I don't do puzzles, my son does... but I do color his coloring books when I'm bored. I will have to post the most colorful spiderman ever, if it ever gets finished.

    1. We did not discuss prizes. She made me a banging mojito while we were at their house and made us subs for dinner, so I would call us even! I'm excited to see your Spiderman. ;)

  6. Wow, is that 5 hours, am I reading that right?
Tell Your cousin Stephanie she has Great Wall colors in her house...haha I'm noticing details like that now because I'm currently picking out paint colors. I have 17 of them on my wall right now. So yea, that's what I did all weekend!

    1. Yup, 5 hr and 49 minutes. Pretty impressive, huh!? I will let Steph know you love her walls! They are actually having someone do some painting in their house now but not the main rooms you saw.

  7. I don't really wear hats minus my floppy fishing hat I wear after I run. I got that hat in 2003 so it is now 13+ years old. In fact I have been beaten in races by little girls who are younger than that hat. I wore the hat at the race after party where that happened, too.

I love that you did a puzzle contest and that is a really short amount of time to put together such a big puzzle. My friend is an artist and has had puzzles made of his art, and I want to buy one and put it together now.

    1. Why do you wear the hat after you run? To keep the sun out of your face? Go get a puzzle! I bet you would have fun putting it together.

  8. I need your talent for the puzzle my family's tried the past two Christmases. 1000 or 1500 pieces of Disneyland Main Street. We make progress each year, but we've never finished it.

    1. It must be a really hard puzzle! I only pick ones that are the right amount of challenge so that it's still fun.

  9. Good question, I don't know where I would wear it!
Thanks Karen. :) That top is so old but still kicking!
I'm glad you didn't die and got to drink beer. ;)

  10. Yes, I'm your Momma, and some might think I'm biased, but you look stunning in that hat. Heck, you'd look stunning in a Burger King crown!
