Weekly Workouts

I ran... 0 miles!
I lifted... 4 days.
I hiked... 8.4 miles.
I rested... 1 day.
I arc trained... 1 day.

And now the good news...

I DID 20 SQUATS WITH NO KNEE PAIN/WEAKNESS!!!!

Saturday- Lifting @ Planet Fitness. I really didn't feel like doing this workout but I did it!

Sunday- 8.4 mile hike on the AT with Debby. I love my SIL! We had a great time hiking and chatting! Unfortunately my groin starting hurting around Mile 4, but we did an out and back so I had to go back 4 more miles! It hurt for the rest of the day.

It was so green!

Monday- Lifting upper body @ home & PT. My groin was hurting thanks to stupid me who did 8.4 miles on the trail the day before. I did nothing lower body except or my PT exercises. My PT worked on my psoas and he said he released the muscle and that it should help. I don't know what's going to help me at this point but I hope I can at least get on the arc trainer tomorrow! Oh, more good PT news: We incorporated squats into my routine! I did 10 total and my knee felt great the whole rest of the day!

Tuesday- Lifting back @ home & PT exercises. No arch trainer. I could still feel my groin a bit. Chrissy helped me exercise, at least.

Wednesday- Lifting chest @ home & PT appointment. My groin felt stiff in the morning so I didn't arch train or anything. As I foam rolled, stretched, and did my PT exercises, it loosened up, which made me happy. I did 10 more squats at PT and my knee held up well. I also noticed some improvement in my pinched nerve. Hopefully those two things are on the mend!

I have 30lb dumbbells in each hand!

I did five 60 second planks.

Thursday- Arc trainer! My first proper cardio of the week after that disastrous hike that angered my groin so badly. I did 50 minutes total and my butt/hip started to feel "warm" when I was a little more than halfway through, but didn't get worse. I guess that is good news!?

Friday- REST! I got up at 4am to travel to CRIMECON!!!

  1. Hooray for the squats! I hope your hip/butt will be okay and maybe some rest at CrimeCon will help? I hope you have an amazing time!

  2. Megan, this is really great news on the squats and nerve issue! I'm so happy because I know how much you desperately want to work lower body. Have a great time at CrimeCon! From the looks of things on FB, you already are.
