The Websites I Visit Most

Last week, Kristina wrote a fun post about the websites she visits most. I was really excited to read about that, mostly because I am a very nosy person in regards to the personal lives of bloggers I follow. (Sorry if you find that creepy but it's the TRUTH!)

Kristina's post inspired me to do one in a very similar style! Here I will list the websites I go to every day as well as some that I visit a couple times a week.

~ Websites I Visit Every Day ~

1. Meg Go Run. Since I post every day and like to respond to all comments, I log into Meg Go Run a couple times a day. Meranda told me blogging would be so much easier once I had a smartphone, and she was correct! While I'd never dream of writing a whole post on my phone, I do comment via my phone.

2. Other Blogs! If you ever wondered what blogs I read regularly, check out my blog roll! I recently updated it because I realized it was a little outdated.

3. Facebook. Facebook is a great place for me to keep updated on the news. I follow The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN, and NPR. I currently have 90% of my Facebook friends hidden just because it was getting to be too much “noise”. I was at the point where I either was going to quit Facebook or just hide a lot of people...

4. Solving JonBenet. This is my favorite JonBenet blog to read, and it's basically for the comments. It's more like a forum these days than a blog. While I don't agree with the host's theory of who killed JonBenet (he thinks it was her father with no help in the crime OR cover up from the mother), I do like to read all the discussions in the comments. I have only commented on the blog a couple times but I want to comment more because I have finally solidified some of my opinions on the case! Some of the comments and the host can be very condescending to those who don't agree with their theory, which I find annoying. But it's like a train wreck and I can't look away! This is what I read before I go to bed at night!

~ Websites I Visit A Couple Times A Week ~

1. Internet Movie Database. I like to check out the discussion forums for The View, Survivor, and Big Brother. Unfortunately, on February 20th, imdb disabled all of their message boards! I have been a member there for fourteen years, so it truly is the end of an era...

2. Google. Does Google even count? I am always asking Google stuff! Mostly I ask how old people are or if they are married. And by people, I mean my favorite hosts and political correspondents on CNN. Do you have favorite correspondents? I love...

Jim Acosta              David Axelrod

David Gergen         Gloria Borger

Jim Sciutto

Kirsten Powers

3. Amazon. We buy a lot of every day things on Amazon because we have Prime and it's so easy! I recently got a 10 pack of cat treats for the kitties. Now I don't have to buy cat treats for like a year!
What websites do you visit daily or weekly?
Do you have favorite news hosts/correspondents?

  1. Oh wow, did IMDB say why they closed down their message boards?!

I don't have favorite TV correspondents but I love Steve Inskeep from NPR Morning Edition!

    1. Steve Inskeep is the shit! Yes, they had a big statement about it on their homepage to warn us it would be gone as of Feb 20th. I didn't read the whole thing because it was pretty long. But it was basically laid out that they want to keep enhancing the imdb user's experience and that message boards no longer do that. Sort of like that... It is sad! Like I am watching The View right now and I want to go on there and complain about something but I can't because it is gone!!!

  2. I visit IMDB when I'm in the middle of watching a movie. Usually I'll be like, hey that actor looks familiar! What were they in? 90% of the time I recognize them from Law & Order: SVU or Bones haha!

  3. See, I knew your smart phone would change blogging for you for the better...lol

I visit Amazon almost everyday and of course our blog. There are a variety of websites I use at work but I guess they don't count.
I try to avoid Facebook like the plaque. Just this morning I had to get on just to check out something technical (about my blog as you know what's going on), and I saw a friend post that her dog has Cancer. That's it, my day is ruined because now that's all I can think about. Why do people have to post bad news on Facebook. I think I liked the world better before FB. OK, rant over. Sorry.

    1. Omg I hate sad animal stuff on FB too. I can't read it. I scroll through and shut my eyes halfway so it is blurry and I don't accidentally read/see something I didn't want to! I have to do that when I see road kill too... which is kind of dangerous because I shouldn't be trying to make things blurry while I am driving.

  4. Sometimes I notice that things are more expensive on Amazon. I'm not sure about Amazon Prime though. I don't think we have that in Canada. I should check! And yes, Google counts!

    1. I think Prime is just that you get FREE 2-day shipping on eligible items. I don't think it affects the price of the item.

  5. I do read a lot of blogs. FB, Amazon, IG, and Goodreads I guess...

    1. I just cannot get into IG, and then when I don't get on for a week or two, I feel very overwhelmed at the thought of trying to catch up on all pictures.

  7. I visit my own blog to respond to comments, Yelp, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, and Citi (to check my credit card since I put everything on it). Amazon is also a frequent one, because the deals and prices change so much.

  8. I visit npr, and buzzfeed.... Those are the two new sources I take most seriously. I can waste so much time on Buzzfeed!

I love how much you love cnn! I used to have s huge crush on Steve Inskeep from morning edition, his voice and his laughter always improve my day. And I'm also loving Trevor Noah, after reading his book, I have so much respect for him.

    1. You know what, for some reason Trevor Noah annoys me! I tried listening to a podcast this morning in which he was the guest and I had to turn it off!

    2. What is it that annoys you ? I didn't know anything about him, but after reading his book, I have a new respect for him... and I think he is very attactive!

    3. First let me say I have seen clips of his show and it is funny. But when he hear him interviewed he comes off as.. like he thinks he's smart and better than everyone! I know this is ridiculous. I am probably the only person who is annoyed by Trevor Noah. :)

  9. Hmmm, on a daily basis I've got my list of blogs I check up on (yours!). I hit Strava to give kudos to everyone for their running efforts, and hang out on Facebook. I'm part of a Moms Run This Town group on Facebook and have several good friends from that group now. Other than that, it's ALL WORK RELATED (in case my boss is reading this right now). hahaha
