VLOG: Christmas exploded and my house!

Hello! Welcome to my holiday home!

I would like to give you the grand tour...

I knew I would forget to tell you some tidbits. First of all, I filmed this right after getting home from work, so my teacher voice is FULL FORCE. Sorry about that. Pretend you're in second  grade.

Next, I would like to mention how thankful I am that growing up, my mom and dad got me Hallmark ornaments for Christmas. Now I have special decorations to hang. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

Last... Yes, our house is always this "tidy". That doesn't mean there isn't cat hair on the floor... but we don't leave clutter around the house. It's easy when it's just the two of us!

By the way, if you really watched this whole thing, I commend you. A VLOGGER, I am NOT!

What type of holiday traditions do you enjoy?

Do you have a pine cone on your toilet yet? What are you waiting for?

Do your fur babies mess with your decorations?

What does your house smell like?

  1. Oh that was so cute! Thanks for sharing. I love the idea of hiding the router!
After I wrote about how decorating can be a Hassle, I kind of felt bad and thought maybe people thought I was a Gringe...haha which I am not because I clearly do have decorations up. I thought I ought to post pictures of what I did decorate. After seeing your vlog you have inspired me to indeed do that. I won't do the vlog though cus I always have trouble loading it to youtube.

I love your holiday pillows. I got one this year too but I did not arrive yet!

    Enjoy the season!

    1. I don't think anyone thought you were a grinch! You do YOU. I would like to see the ones you put up, though. I feel like I can picture your Christmas style...

    2. Oh fun! Out of curiosity, what do you think my Christmas style is?

    3. Okay well I picture kind of "country home" but things that could also be winter decorations, not just Christmas, so they could stay out longer? Maybe I am wrong!

    4. Hmm, I'm not sure I would use the word "country" but then again I don't really know what my style is to begin with...lol. Now I can't wait to see what you think. You are encouraging me to step things up a notch. I may get a few more decorations out...lol!

  2. I love casual vlogs like this!

I can't believe that pine cone doesn't end up IN your toilet! If I put one on my toilet I am absolutely sure Cecil would bat it into the toilet and I would walk in one day and think a huge turd was floating around!

I love your idea to make a fox box to cover the router. That's such a cute idea!

    2. Thanks girl!

We keep the toilet lid closed unless we're using it... I'm afraid one of the cats would fall in! So I don't think the pine cone will ever go in the toilet! :)

    3. Ohh that works! We're lazy people and leave the toilet lids open.

Adam even leaves the seat part up sometimes. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten up to pee in the middle of the night and fallen in because I'm not paying attention! :-O It wakes me up REAL FAST!

  3. I used to really get into Christmas when the boys were little. I do have my tree up and this weekend I plan on tackling the rest of the decorations. No one helps me, so that makes it a little less fun.

    1. Paul helps carry my garland up from the basement, and I am thankful for that. Sometimes he will help with heavy boxes that require two sets of arms. But the actual DECORATING? I enjoy doing that part alone and honestly I am a little bit of a control freak...

  4. I love how you decorated! Reminds me of how my mom would truly go all out and decorate our entire home! It's lovely, Megan.

  5. We used to have the same "bootie" perfumes, way back in the day! I think my mom let us play with them, and we broke them.

I love your Santa running ornament! that is so cool! and your baby's first ornaments are precious! I have a ton of those for my son, which he will get when he has his own tree.

I don't have any decorations in the bathroom, will have to work on that today!

    1. I think the perfumes may be Avon?? My mom and Grandma sold Avon... Your son will definitely appreciate having decorations when he is older. :) Okay go get your toilet pine cone quick!

  6. Totally true about the teacher voice. I can tell you're a singer too--your voice carries! Your house looks so warm and cozy and welcoming. I wish I could come over, collapse onto your couch with the Christmas pillows and cuddle your kitties! I bought candles from Bath and Body Works that smell like cinnamon and they smell up our house SO well. I even made bacon yesterday and the candles helped take away the greasy smell. I think they're called "'Tis the Season."

    1. Thank you! It feels cozy for sure. You are invited over anytime to chill with the kitties, me, and Paul! :) I love Christmas candles. Is the BRAND called "Tis the season" or is that the fragrance smell?

  7. Oh you can catch up whenever! Nothing big going on over here. ;) Oh the Frosty slate was a present from my mom to my grandparents. Now my gma lives in a senior living center and downsized so I got the slate! I love it because it reminds me of my grandma and grandpa's house. Haha yes the bathroom is green. It came that way. ;)
