Meet the Trainer!

Hello, I'm Megan. I'm an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. I train clients in Central
PA and write programs for clients via online training.

Over the past 10 years, my approach to fitness has evolved. I have come to
learn that with the proper exercise, nutrition, and rest, my body could achieve
things I never imagined it could do. As I tackled each new fitness endeavor, I
learned along the way. Whether it was qualifying for the Boston Marathon,
running ultra marathons, or attempting the weight room for the first time,
I never quit.

I hold an MA in Educational Development and Strategies and have 10 years experience in public school classrooms. This experience means I am no stranger to the many different learning styles and the psychology surrounding behavior, self efficacy and behavior change.

I decided to become a personal trainer because I want to help others take control of their health and happiness. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you're picking up where you left off, I am here to guide, motivate, and educate you so you can meet your health and fitness goals.

  2. Yes! I totally get what you mean! Not every exercise/movement is good for each person. If a trainer told me to do weighted squats right now I would laugh at them and be like, "ummm... I would like to be able to not be in pain tonight" hehe.

    1. Well I haven't been advertising much so I get a couple clients a month. But in a way that is good. I think it would be overwhelming to have more than that at this point. As you can see, I am starting to advertise more and I will hopefully get some more clients for summer!

    1. Aw thanks Ali! I hope I can help a lot of people see results. I think many people are willing to put the work in, they just need to know what to DO.

  8. Whooo! You're the best! Anyone being trained by you is getting a serious value because you're very passionate about and good at what you do.

One thing that really annoys me in the run blog world is when bloggers decide they need to monetize and randomly start offering coaching/training services with little to no real training/knowledge. I love that you shared your whole certification journey on the blog!

    1. I am all about having the certification! It's funny because yesterday I was thinking about how new I am at training, and how I hope I can keep getting better and learning so that 5-10 years from now I know that much more. I keep getting reminded of my teaching career and how far I have come with getting 10 yrs experience in the classroom. I want to get a lot of training experience in the next couple years so I can be the BEST help to people as possible.

  11. Looks fantastic! You have so much to offer people from your own experiences. It seems that you have arrived at a place in your life that is balanced, having learned first hand that extremes in any direction can only lead to burnout at best. Thank you for have such a positive and realistic outlook on exercise and life ;)

    1. THANK YOU for saying that! I feel like that is one of my strengths- having both perspectives. You need hard work and commitment, but of course you have to live your life too. Getting fit shouldn't be ALL consuming and control your life. It should make you feel good. Obviously, there are some lifestyle changes that should be made, but hopefully after the initial discomfort, they enhance your life, not burn you out. :)
