Negative Nancy- Things I am Not Enjoying Right Now

**I feel like I owe yas all a "life" update tomorrow. I have been struggling... Lack of sleep, stuck in a rut... maybe that's why I am feeling so negative lately. I don't like it, though!!! I need my old positive outlook back. Anyway, I will check in with ya tomorrow. But for now, things are getting NEGATIVE here on Meg Go Run...**Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

I'm about to get really complain-y, so go ahead and skip this post if you don't want any negativity in your day!

~*~THINGS I AM NOT
ENJOYING RIGHT NOW~*~

1. Blogs with ads that fly down in front of your face and make you close it before you read content. I realize some people use their blogs as income. I have nothing against that. But isn't the point of a blog for readers to read your content? How am I supposed to read content if I have an annoying ad hovering over top of it? It just really irks me. I've only been blogging for about two years... is it too early for me to be complaining about something like this?

2. Really long and/or slow lines at the store. I try very hard not to look annoyed when there is a cashier that is just taking forever. I realize it is not always that person's fault. The store could be understaffed, the computers may not be working... But I still get pissed that I am slightly inconvenienced. And it always happens when I don't take my pod casts with me.

 3. Pick up trucks that ride your ass. I get it. You have a big truck. It is bigger than my little red car. Congratulations. But I'm still going to drive the speed limit.

4. People who are significantly late and seem to think it is no big deal. The older I get, the more I realize there are two types of people. No, it's not people who are on time and people who aren't on time. It's people who care about being on time and people who don't care. People who care about being on time generally are on time, and if they aren't, they give the person they are meeting a heads up as soon as they know they are running late. It is just common courtesy.

5. Busting your butt and feeling unappreciated. I'd love to go into this topic more but alas I have to be vague. But yeah, it makes me feel like a piece of shit.

And just to balance it out a little... something I am enjoying A LOT right now! Seriously, if you have cats, you must check out the link below....

Tell me something you are not enjoying right now!

  1. I am so glad you can be real and vent on this blog. One of the MANY reasons you are my favorite! I am w/ you on people being late. It's rude and there is no excuse for someone that is always late (it's not like I can't cut someone some slack when it happens occasionally but when it's all the time I get really annoyed).

    1. It is rude because they are not respecting the other person's time. At least giving them a heads up as SOON as they know they are going to be late is showing some respect. I mean, I am not always on time, I have been late for things. But you better believe I am texting that person and letting them know ASAP so they can plan their day accordingly.

  2. I hear you about the blog stuff...this especially bothers me when I am reading on my phone. I know there have been a bunch of things that have bothered me lately but right now I can't think of any!!

    1. Haha well I am glad they weren't so bothersome that they stuck with you.

  3. I just clicked through to the 100 cats... The Loyal Friend brought tears to my eyes! How sweet! The others are hilarious! Which one is your favorite?

I'm sorry that you've been struggling. Number 4 and 5 are so closely related. I would re-write #4 as there are people who respect your time and people who do not respect your time. When one person puts in the effort to be somewhere on time, and the other people just strolls in whenever it's so rude and disrespectful!

    1. I think loyal friend has to be my favorite. :)

Your #4 rewrite is much better put than the way I said it. You are right on the nose!

  4. I hope my blog doesn't do that with the ads! I don't know what Wordpress puts on there but if that is me, I SWEAR I did not do that on purpose, I choose none of my ads.

#4 all the way. People who are chronically late make me rage. It's just so disrespectful. Everyone is late every now and then, but some people are literally late to everything and not only do they recognize this and not care, they seem to think it's cute or something. Wake up/start getting ready 5 minutes earlier. It's not rocket science.

    1. No I have never had an ad fly up from your blog! It's usually blogs that I stumble upon for the first time because my first time there turns into my last time there. :)

  5. Meg, I don't think this post is negative at all. I think you are just pointing out that some people lack common sense...lol. I of course have to chime in here on this.

The blog ads, I know what you mean on this one. There are some ads that cover the entire page until you "x" them out. We read blogs on our phone so this gets really annoying because it basically covers the whole screen. We do have a banner ad that runs over the top of our blog but I hope that doesn't cause any problems for you.

As far as the people being late and having no regard about it, that annoys me too. We would always have teachers that would come in late to faculty meetings or in service meetings but yet they would have a Starbucks cup in their hand. You mean to tell me you are late ( again) yet you had time to go get your precious Starbuck?

    1. I can totally relate to the faculty meeting thing! Some days I am amazed people have been able to get professional positions yet never arrive on time for things. How did they make it through school?

No I never even noticed your ad. I am talking about the flying into the middle of the screen thing and you have to X it out- like what you are talking about on your phone. It normally happens to me when I go to a new blog and it ends up being the first and LAST time I visit it. Also, my computer is old and when there are lots of ads it takes too long for it to load. But that's my old computer's problem hehe.

    2. Yes, and in addition to those pop up ads, it is just as annoying when a pop up comes on asking you to "subscribe" to the blog.

  6. I'm right there with you on the being on time thing - I understand things come up but when the same people are late over and over that is just rude!!
Sorry that you aren't being appreciated - that totally sucks!!!
Hope your day(s) get better and that you start sleeping - I know that is horrible!!!

    1. You wrote a GREAT post a couple months ago about the being on time thing. :) That post SPOKE to me.

  7. I so identify with all these. I'm going to add super ignorant drivers who drive way below the speed limit as they look for their next turn, or who cut you off while slowing down. Damn snow birds.

I am looking forward to spring break. I haven't truly rested since last Thursday night. I hope you feel better soon!

    1. I am glad you have spring break coming up! Our spring break got eaten up by snow days, but that is okay. It all evens out and I really NEEDED some of those snow days. Tomorrow is Friiiiiiday! bring on the sleep. :)

  8. I like your "complain-y" posts, but I am also sorry you are having a rough time ;( I agree completely with all 5 of them, and there are a lot of other things that are incredibly annoying to me. A top one is when people try to project their views on me. I also do not like rudeness!

    1. Ooh that's a good one! I try not to surround myself with people who try to project their differing world views on me- especially on things I feel very passionate about. Although I have had to leave the lunch room at work once or twice because I just could not stand to sit there and listen to someone spout their ignorance. But if I spoke up it would've been unprofessional so I just had to walk out.

  9. I am sorry you are feeling very similar to me. :( It is a crappy feeling. I think the bright spot is feelings like this usually don't last for long because the situation changes or our outlook changes. :) Hang in there!

No spring break for us because it got eaten up by snow days. We do have Good Friday off next week but that is it. It's okay though. A 3 day weekend is grand. I think I'd rather have several 3 day weekends than one long break.

  10. Ugh, we have so many pick up tail gaters here and I get so annoyed that I put my hand up in the window to say like "back off buddy," See how aggessive I can get, LOL...NOT! A hand raise is my limit.

    1. I love my horn and I have flicked people off before. I know that is bad, but I only do it when they are REALLY aggressive... which is prob not a good idea because if they are that aggressive without me instigating them further, there's no telling what they would do. Paul loves to turn around in his seat (while I'm driving) and just stare at the person with his hands up like he's saying "What are you doing!?" He gets so pissed cause he will say to me, "I can see their EYE COLOR. I should not be able to SEE THEIR EYE COLOR." Ooh I love when he gets sassy!!!! What is your Matt like? You don't talk about him much but he seems like a really laid back, kind of quiet guy????
