Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday! Many of you raced yesterday. I hope you take today off and RELAX and REJUVENATE! Take care of yourselves and bask in that post race glory... you've earned it!

Friday was an "Early Dismissal Day" at work, which means we try to condense about 6+ hours of teaching into just 4 hours. Add an assembly in there and it's pre-ttyyyyyy hard to do. But boy was the assembly fun. It was all about "Responsibility", and me and some colleagues performed a rap about being responsible.

We are not afraid to dress up and make fools of ourselves...

Saturday was so dreary. I originally planned to run 8-10 miles but the weather was making me want to curl up on the couch all day. I decided to get 5 miles in and save the longish run for Sunday. I had to wear my new shoes, which I hate. They make my toes fall asleep. Also, my Garmin battery was dead. Booooo. Dreary morning all around!

That afternoon Paul and I went to see Gone Girl! I was very excited to see the movie because not only is it neat to see the movie version of a book, but I heard that the movie would feature Ben Affleck and Neil Patrick Harris' penis.

There was no penis.

I saw shadows of pubes. That's it. I want my $6.75 back.

That night we did a fire pit at our place with our friends Bree and Geoff. We actually took pictures this time, which means it did happen!

We were being a little silly...

I felt so much more ready to run on Sunday! It was sort of cool out, so I broke out my Boston shirt for the very first time! That's right, I hadn't worn this puppy yet!

Pre-run!

My run felt great. My legs were fresh and I held a solid pace that felt effortless. Isn't it crazy how on Saturday I didn't feel like running at all, and then Sunday, the tides changed? I was thinking about doing 10 miles, but I had dance rehearsal later, so I stopped at 8 miles.

Post run!

Speaking of dance rehearsal, I practiced for Dancing with the East Pennsboro Stars in Carlisle again. We only practiced for about an hour and a half because... get this... my ARMS were getting sore. That's right, it's my arms that get beat up in this dance routine, not my legs!

Where the magic happens!

When I got home, I hopped on Facebook to check out how everyone's races went! It seemed like EVERYONE was racing this weekend, and everyone performed VERY STRONG. Congratulations, runners! Special shout out to Heather @ Girl Goes Running, who ran her 10th marathon yesterday! Does this mean she is crazy x 10?????

And I will leave you with a picture of the most gorgeous little boy in the world...

Jelly says, "Have a good Monday!"

What were you up to this beautiful fall weekend?
Did you race this weekend?
Have you read/seen Gone Girl? Did you see penis? Because I missed it!

  1. I love the rap outfits!! LOL. The students must have went wild? :) I am very thankful that this is our Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend and I do not have work today after yesterday's marathon! I'll be making turkey dinner and curling up on the couch instead. Fantastic job on your running! I think it's amazing to see you go from recovering from knee surgery to smokin' paces!

    1. Happy Thanksgiving! Today, Americans are celebrating a man who killed thousands of people and traded slaves! Enjoy your relaxation. :)

  2. That outfit!!!! I love it. You only paid $6.75 to see Gone Girl??!! The movies here are so expensive. Despite the lack of private parts, did you like it? We saw it and enjoyed it.

    1. That is the matinee price, it is prob more like $9 at night... which is still not bad considering other places!

  3. Those rap outfits are awesome, I love the big necklaces!

I'm jealous that it was sort of cool out for you yesterday. It was 92 degrees here in the afternoon. Before I started blogging I never thought about the weather much, but now hearing how nice it is elsewhere I keep thinking I need to move! I couldn't deal with snow during the winter though!

Is it weird that I don't think Ben is attractive?

    1. I don't think Ben is attractive either. Nor do I find penises attractive. I was just excited that finally it wasn't women who had to be full frontal. I want equal opportunity exploitation!

Fall and Spring is great running weather in PA. That's when all the marathons are around here. Summer can be very hot and humid, but nothing like FL. Winters SUCK.

  5. I kept hearing all about Ben's penis too... well, so much for publicity :)

  6. Haha there was a little of Ben's...side view and only a tiny bit of it when he turned around. I, for one, was thankful that the "full frontal" they talked about didn't happen...back in the 90s, Kevin Bacon's scene in Wild Things scarred me ;)

    1. Yes, it is a great reminder that even if we feel bad one day, it doesn't mean we will feel bad forever!

  8. You guys look fabulous! How fun. Is teaching elementary school as neat as I think it would be? Growing up I always wanted to be a 4th grade teacher and each time I pick up my nephew from school (4th grade) I get a bit envious of his teacher.

What?!? A penis? Why is this the first I am hearing of this important detail? I do want to see Gone Girl as I loved the book but now....well, I am completely intrigued.

    1. Well, bring your magnifying glass because as Emmeline says, it's really just the shadow of PART of a penis for like 1/2 a second haha!

It IS fun teaching elem. students. It is also stressful! I think it is more stressful than some people realize.

  9. How fun you guys dressed up at work. I have a hard time getting out for my runs when it is rainy out as well. Perfect weather for fires in the evenings during this time of year. -L

  10. So cool that y'all did a rap for the kids!!!
I haven't seen Gone Girl yet but need to - one of Chris' sisters was an extra in the movie (they filmed it in her town - Cape Girardeau, MO).

  11. You had an assembly on a half day?!?! That's insanity! I love your outfit, though! lol

A friend of mine said GG was "explicit" and deserved an NC17 rating lol. Maybe peen is only available in some cities?!

    1. LOL I know what scene she is referring to as being NC-17... it was a combo of erotic/funny/and gross. Oh, and yeah we have assemblies on EVERY half day. Hey, it wasn't my idea!

  12. Love your assembly outfit, it's great! I heard the Gone Girl movie was better than the book and I loved the book. Super excited to see the movie!

    1. I wouldn't say it was better than the book because I mean, a movie can't top a really good book. But I think it really did the book justice. :)
