Weekend Wrap Up!

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

It's going to be one of those TRIUMPH/FAILURE wrap ups today!

I do have quite a few pictures to share with you as well!

TRIUMPH

Sunning at the Boiling Springs pool with my cool friend JK-L!

FAILURE

Not covering my entire stomach with sunscreen. I have a nice splotchy sunburn.

******

FAILURE

Driving all the way to Lancaster only to get stuck in traffic, get lost, have our
GPS crap out on us, and miss our tour at Landis Valley Museum
We were hangry, hirritated, hannoyed, and hustrated!

TRIUMPH

Finally getting some yummy food and playing around at Overlook Park!

What kind of park has an interactive gaming system?

Most of the games had you hitting light up dots that made noise.

Just some silliness coming at you right now!

I don't know why, I can't stop laughing at this one!

I'm siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinging in the raaaaaaaaaaaain!

I would like to point out Paul's ripped calf muscles in which I have always been a huge fan of!

You had to run and jump on that thing and your weight/momentum would have you flying to
the other end like a zip line. Wheeeee!

FAILURE

Waking up early to Christmas walking on my stomach... and the strong odor of cat puhp.
Being a Maine Coon, puhp sometimes gets stuck on his furry behind. UGH! The stench had me wide
awake even though I got less than five hours of sleep!

TRIUMPH

Since I was up, I figured I may as well meet up with my running group
for a 10 miler around the riverfront in Harrisburg and Wormleysburg.

******

FAILURE

Not wearing cute pajamas around the house. Sorry, Paul!

TRIUMPH

Getting to hang out with my pal Randy on Saturday night! We chilled on my back porch and did what
we do best- talked so loud the whole neighborhood probably heard us!

Rando and I the year we met- in costume for the musical Annie.

And now one more triumph for Saturday because clearly it was a TRIUMPHANT DAY!

TRIUMPH

It took him all day, but Christmas finally got all the puhp off his butt! He's clean as a whistle!
Now it's time to disinfect the entire house.

TRIUMPH

I harvested my first peppers from my garden! So far, I have lots of parsley, basil, cilantro, and these peppers:

FAILURE

Even though I stretched my ass off today, my IT band is still aggravated from my workout.
I'm ticked!

Turns out, nothing comes up when you do a Google image search for "IT band funny"
because there is NOTHING funny about the IT band.
Tell me a TRIUMPH and FAILURE from your weekend!

  1. Wow those peppers look great! I have managed to grow a tiny herb garden in my kitchen window, lol. Maybe next year I'll graduate to actual food. ;)

    1. The Gettysburg trip sounds fun! I live like 30 min from there and we went several months ago but it was a reaaaally quick trip. Sunday could be a triumph too, depending on how you look at it. :)

  3. Hey! Is that the mini golf outfit?! You looked rockin in it before, but I think the singing in the rain picture takes the cake!

Triumph and a Failure all in one: sitting on my couch for many hours and watching almost all two seasons of Orange is the New Black.

    1. omg that IS the mini golf outfit except different shorts- though still shorty shortys haha! I like Paul's calf muscle picture the best. :)

I don't know girl, I think your OITNB binge is nothing but a TRIUMPH!

  4. Triumph: found an awesome little restaurant with great BBQ and another little family owned french place. Fail: my legs were so sore after my physio attacked them with very aggressive massage that I didn't run Friday or Saturday.

    1. You guys are always finding neat little places to eat. :) Hope the pain from your physio was worth it! It usually is...

  5. I definitely noticed Paul's calf muscle before I even read your caption. That's what happens when you're into muscles! You've got a hot hubby! ;-)

And those pjs! You'd fit right in around here. Nothing wrong with them. And they look so comfortable.

About must see places in Northern California- I live about 4 hours north of San Francisco and about two hours south of the Oregon border, so yes, I definitely live in Northern California. Avenue of the Giants is absolutely a must see. You can drive along it and stop at specific hiking trails. It's incredible. There is also a beautiful place called Fern Canyon where Star Wars was filmed. It's a short little hike, but it's definitely a must-see. Hiking along the Lost Coast trail is also a must-do. It's mostly beach hiking, but the views are incredible. Check out Glass Beach in Fort Bragg. It's amazing. I know there are LOTS more things to do, but those are a few of the things that you would definitely need to do.

    1. Thank you so much for that info- that's exactly what i needed to know, the best places to hit up! We might be going to CO instead but we do want to do Northern Cali eventually so it is still good to know!

  6. Mmm those veggies look yummy! That's a great triumph!

I introduced my friend to rolling her IT band. She was like "OW THIS FEELS AWFUL WHY AM I DOING THIS?!" Ah, newbies. I hope yours feels better soon!

  7. I am so envious you already have veggies to harvest. Not yet in Colorado but every day I look at my garden and can't wait for tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers & zucchini!

I love the triumph / failure theme. Here is mine:

Failure: thought my piriformis was OK to run on Saturday, it wasn't. I made it one mile and was pouty and mad.

Triumph: I got on my bike and rode 17 miles instead

How is your IT band today? Hoping better!!

    1. It's always better the next day but then gets irritated again. It's the ciiiiiiircle of life hahaha. Glad you at least got 17 miles in on your bike!!! I am sure that was an awesome workout.

  8. I like your Triumph/Failure theme as well!
Triumph: Spent major family time and loved it!
Failure: Not running. To be fair, I'm starting marathon training today so I wanted to give myself the weekend off before things get crazy up in here :)

  9. Hahha no, no there is absolutely nothing funny about the IT band. Looks like you and Paul had fun at Overlook Park though! Yay for lots of triumphs this weekend :)

  11. Oh my gosh, the cat poop thing... I would die. And by die I mean get rid of the cat. I cannot even handle the thought of that. Ha. And I don't see a thing wrong with those PJs. Lingerie is overrated.

    1. lol I love him so much I could never get rid of him. He's bit me twice (requiring doctors attention), ruined all 6 of our dining room chairs, goes through cycles where he pees in every corner of our house, ruined our basement couch, and sometimes gets poop on his butt haha. We still love him.
