What a woman!

Diana Nyad. This woman swam from Cuba to the United States- 110 miles- without a shark tank or swim fins. She started from Havana, Cuba on Saturday morning and reached Key West, Florida on Monday afternoon. It took 53 hours. This was her 5th attempt- her first was in 1978.

She is 64 years old.

I can't watch this without crying.

After this epic swim, she had 3 things to say:

"Never, ever give up."

"You're never too old to chase your dream."

"It looks like a solitary sport but it's a team."

What a freaking inspiration. This is just proof that the only thing that REALLY holds us back from achieving our goals is OURSELVES. She PREPARED- and she never stopped trying and never gave up.

Diana did not let age or previous failures be her EXCUSE for not reaching her goal. She just kept going until she freaking did it!

I am in awe.

Seriously, it's amazing what one can do when they persevere.

If you want to learn more about her swim, this article is great.
