Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday!
Here's what we were up to this weekend...

Friday was my third day in a row waking up several hours before my alarm was supposed to go off. Surprisingly, I wasn't "sick tired" or anything like that. Also, it was a teacher in-service day, so it was pretty quiet. I crossed a lot of my "to do" list, which is always so satisfying!

We went out for sushi that night. We tried a roll with eel and shrimp tempura... So freaking good!

My belly hurt a little before and after dinner. It wasn't fun. I don't know what was wrong with it, but it was painful.

On the way home we stopped at Dollar General for two puzzles. I also got a mint julep face mask. Do you know Dollar General has their own line of body products? It's called DG Body. I'm not kidding.

I spent all of Saturday morning working on one of the new puzzles. I actually worked for too long and barely had time to get my run in before our Cinco De Mayo party at Bob and Rachel's house!

Another weekend, another double digit run!

Week took a pinata to the party because we are adults. This is what we filled it with...

Yes, we got some sort of sick pleasure shoving all of this up the donkey's butt.

Jorge doesn't even know what is coming...

Plate 1 of 3

Paul doesn't drink, but he did enjoy his Pepsi Max in a chalice.

Me and Rachel, who makes amazing picture faces!

Me, Paul, and Jorge... before the madness!

One more

Rachel takes a swing!

Bob takes a swing!

I take a swing!

Paul takes a swing!

We actually had to each hold onto a leg and rip Jorge apart in four directions.
He was just not breaking!

I laughed so hard that night. We're talking belly laughs that make your abs hurt. When we got back home, I sat down and finished my puzzle! Somehow I was missing one piece. Boo hoo.

My Sunday can be best summed up in three words: Running, more sushi, and a puzzle.

It was very windy! I got blown sideways at one point!

Yes, it's missing four pieces! What's what I get for buying $1 puzzles from Dollar General!

And yes, I was REALLY craving cupcakes after spending 5 hours (at least) on this puzzle!

Tell me something fun about your weekend!

  1. LOL--why a Cinco de Mayo party on 3/14? Did you mean St. Patty's Day? We always have the pinatas at our nephews parties but the older guys end up taking some swings. Those are so hard to break open! Looks fun.

I had a movie/lunch date w/ Rick on Saturday and then took a yoga workshop on Sunday. Super fun.

    2. I much prefer Cinco de Mayo! Mexican food rules! Um, not a good movie. We saw Run All Night. Rick had not ever seen a Liam Neeson movie and now he has. There were actually only like 6 people in the theater (we went at 10:30 am) and so we were just sort of laughing and making jokes the whole time. Oh, but we did see The Fault in our Stars on Friday night. So, so good. I read the book and thought the movie did a GREAT job.

  2. Looks like you guys had alot of fun at that cinch de Mayo party! What are you gonna do for the real cinco de mayo?
Um I really can't believe that Dollar General has its own line of beauty products. That just seems wrong.

  3. Did the cats run and hide under the bed when they saw what was happening to poor Jorge? ;)

Your 5-miler was speedy on Sunday! Aside from the wind, was the weather pretty nice? Or is it still freezing and snowy?

    1. Yes, Bob and Rachel's cats were nowhere to be found during the dismemberment of Jorge!

The wind was cold and cutting, but it didn't blow the entire time. When it was not blowing, I would say it was around 40 ish, which was nice. It is supposed to be 60 when I get off work this afternoon. However, my run was this morning and it was only 30! Brrrr!

  5. That looks like a fun weekend! I would be SUPER frustrated about the missing puzzle pieces!
Dave took the kids skiing Saturday, and I had some "me time"--I met a friend for lunch. It was a great way to recharge! Then yesterday--SNOW. That made for a kind of grumpy day. I took a rest day because I mentally just couldn't do the treadmill, or the snowy roads...

    1. I am glad you had some me time this weekend! I know that is so important. Snow?? Are you serious??

  6. Those puzzles look super intense. I am a terrible puzzler-doer. I don't have the patience for them. I search for pieces and let other people figure out where they belong. My OCD also could not handle ONE missing puzzle piece. You have will-power for not flipping the table in anger! ;-)

    1. That is funny Paul thought the missing pieces would bother me as well but they didn't! I think the craving for a cupcake overshadowed the sadness of the missing pieces. :)

  7. So is the face mask you got the DG brand? I'd be scared to use it, honestly! I love DG for toys and prizes for my students though.

  9. Nothing is worse than a puzzle missing pieces. (well, I guess there actually are worse things)
Fun that y'all had a piƱata!!!
