Holy shit, a Weekend Wrap Up!

Hello friends! I can't believe I have a LEGIT Weekend Wrap Up for you! I hope this feels like the good old days!
Friday started with a 6 miler around my hood. I was due to lift, but running helps my mental health more than lifting does, so I skipped. I have been doing that a lot lately...

As you can see, it was a leisurely run...

It's not a secret that I am really struggling this school year, but I was actually excited to go to work on Friday because it was our annual music field trip to see the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra perform at The Forum in Harrisburg. The only bad part about such a field trip is the bus ride...

The students were very respectful at the concert and I hope they enjoyed it.

After work, I went to check out a table I found on Facebook Marketplace. Paul got the dining room table in the divorce, so I have been without one since May. Honestly, it hasn't been bad! Not having a table made vacuuming a lot faster! But with the holidays coming up, I wanted a table. Buying something brand new was just not in my single girl budget, so I found a used table that just needed a little TLC for $130.

Then I had a night out with some girlfriends! We are all current or former colleagues, so it was fun to laugh, talk shop, and eat some yummy Thai food! We went to Bangkok 56 on Paxton Street.

Kait, Molly, Tara

I naturally woke up at the ass crack of dawn... a bit before 5:00. It's okay, I got a lot done in those extra hours, including cleaning my whole house!

I even had time for a Jelly photo shoot... You've missed pics of my cats, haven't you!?

That morning, I met my friend Kristen for some SUFFERING on the Appalachian Trail. Actually, when I am with Kristen, it's never a Sufferfest because we just chitter chatter the whole time! It was a beautiful morning and I was thankful to have the time to connect with my dear friend! We did 11 miles total.

There were lots of climbs.

I legit felt bad for everyone still cuddled up in bed and didn't get to enjoy this gorgeous view!!!

I took some action shots of Kristen!!!
Check out those calves!!!!

That afternoon, my parents came over to help me put together my table! I don't have any tools, so thank goodness for dads who know what's up!

Then I went out and about running errands. I ended up getting some decor for my new table! Then I did a photo shoot of my new decorations to show my mom and to show you guys!

Every day:

We all knew this would happen...

That night I went out for sushi with an old friend. I've been eating pretty good this weekend. If I were rich, I'd eat Thai, sushi, or hibachi every night for dinner!

I slept very late on Sunday, but I was happy about it. It was fun to be lazy for once! (Especially since I did so much housework and errands on Saturday.)

After messing around on the computer for awhile, I finally dragged my booty to the gym. I had a really good workout and pushed myself!

Oh, I have a bitmoji now!!!

When I got home, I did some cooking and worked on a puzzle. I was in the mood for a relaxing night!

And now, my favorite "Lady yelling at a cat" memes!

This one has me dyyyyyying!!!!!!!!!!

My Saturday: Treat Yo' Self!

Two blog posts in two days? Who AM I!? Has someone kidnapped Megan and replaced her with her former "blog every day no matter what" self!?

Don't worry, I haven't been kidnapped. Over the past couple months, I had plenty of time to blog... I just didn't feel like sharing anything! I guess this weekend I sort of felt like sharing again!

Obviously, it's not a full Weekend Wrap Up, but it is a complete Wrap Up of my Saturday, so enjoy!

On Saturday morning, I woke up at 8am feeling completely refreshed! The sun was shining and I had both kitty cats laying with me. What more could a gal ask for on a lazy Saturday morning?

My morning was spent wasting time on the internet and drinking coffee.

After a couple hours I packed up my bag for a trail run. But I had one stop first...

I had a 30% coupon, $30 in Kohl's Cash, and the need for a new winter jacket. I ended up getting this.

It was normally $100 and I got it for $35. It's really freaking warm! I'm pleased with my purchase!

Then I headed to Stony Ridge Park, which is about a half mile from the Appalachian Trail. I parked, hooked on my hydration pack, texted someone my plan for the day (always a good idea to be safe!) and headed north on the trail. It was brisk and windy, but perfect for running.

I did 10 miles total. My legs felt like jelly by the end so I knew I had a good workout.

I passed several people on the trail, many of them with unleashed dogs. (Dogs do not have to be leashed on the section of the AT I was running on.) 99% of the time the dogs I encounter on trails are well behaved. But today, as I was running past a man, his son, and their dog, the dog bounded toward me and jumped up on me. I was scared and threw my hands up. The man said, "Down," to his dog but did not apologize for his dog jumping on me. That really irked me. I know animals sometimes do things like that, but the owner should have apologized.

The moral of the story? Animals are awesome and people suck.

On my way home, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up the ingredients to make a roast. This would be my very first time making such a thing, and I am pretty sure I called my mom at least three times to get instructions and clarification!

I got a London Broil, like my mom suggested. I also picked up potatoes, carrots, onions, and garlic to put with the roast. Then I saw some corn on the cob and thought, what the hell, that sounds good too!

I had one annoying task to get out of the way before hunkering down for the evening... laundry. There is something going on with the pipe that drains my washing machine. It's clogged or something so it doesn't drain completely and water and food from the dishwasher fill the utility sink next to the washer. It's a huge shit show of piping problems going on in my basement and I have been putting off calling the plumber by taking my laundry to the laundromat.

The rest of the night I planned to cook, relax, and treat myself! After warming up in the shower I put on this new lotion I got a couple days ago...

Then I put on my warm, fuzzy slippers!

Time to cook!

And drink!

(Another treat I picked up for myself on the way home!)

As my roast cooked, I did some research on dogs. While I was on the trail today, I was jealous of all the people hiking with dogs. I always say how I want a trail running dog but I never take any steps to make it happen. And why not!? I feel like I have the time, energy, and money to give a dog an awesome life! I just need to make sure it is a medium sized dog who wouldn't mind living in my 1200 square foot house and medium sized yard...

I am looking at an Australian Shepherd. They are on every list I have found for good trail running dogs. Also, I remember meeting a runner out on the trail who had an Australian Shepherd and he only had good things to say about his dog and how wonderful his pet was for running and hiking.

Obviously I am not ready to pull the trigger and I have a lot more reading and learning to do, but it is exciting to think about! The best time for me to get a dog would be during the summer so I would have the time to train it.

Oh, I also took Christmas outside for a little bit. I have been letting him go in the backyard after my runs in the morning and he loves it. He mainly eats grass, and then when I decide it's time to go in, he runs away from me like a little two year old. Christmas is literally a very, very, smart toddler. And I love him!

The roast cooked for 2.5 hours. I gave it a little taste and it was divine! My mom was right, it would be impossible for me to screw it up!

I ended up going to be early because I was bored. I tried to start a puzzle but I just wasn't into it. I looked for some events on Facebook and hit up a few friends but everyone was busy or didn't respond. Oh well, that's what I get for deciding around 7pm on a Saturday that I need something to do!
