Regaining your motivation by forcing your mind to stay focused. Running is my life. I have high thoughts on it. But sometimes I also became distracted. Thanks to natrun.com.au for getting me back from it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17992824293694055006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003023702428993428.post-50132559507121006922014-09-25T20:03:03.402-04:002014-09-25T20:03:03.402-04:00I think it's understandable that your motivati...I think it's understandable that your motivation is lacking with the start of school, the recent hospitalization of Paul and y'all's trip for his surgery (not surgery). Then one day a few weeks in, we start to feel unmotivated to lose more sleep than we're always missing. About 4 weeks into the school year my motivation started to take a dive too! I'm not someone who can be motivated by outside stimulus, even the idea of the race or whatever, it has to come from within, so I just let myself slack a bit until I miss it so much I'm motivated again!

Idk if that works for other people. Maybe remembering that a strong body = faster runs = meeting your 10k race goal will help! Or making a friend text you in the morning to get up. Or making Paul kick you out of bed! Or make him go with you! Mostly because they're men with perfect bodies and muscles without the weights, so why strength train?! I, however, love to lift weights, but have been skipping the weights to go for runs lately. Like last week, I skipped leg day in favor of a random 10-miler. Oops. I may be skipping leg day again today to try and keep up with the boys. We will see. I'm going to lose my much earned behind if I keep this up! I'm right here with you. I hope your motivation comes back soon! I am sure it's just your body's way of wanting rest.NotRachemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05535369819272842179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003023702428993428.post-54274650100785845052014-09-25T09:18:57.849-04:002014-09-25T09:18:57.849-04:00I feel this way every year as we move into fall, e...I feel this way every year as we move into fall, even though I live in LA and it often remains as hot in the fall as the summer. I think my body still thinks I live in Michigan and need an extra "warm layer" so it's OK to eat pasta and not want to run or go to the gym. :) I sort of kid, but I think these things happen in cycles and it's OK to honor that feeling for a little bit. Try not to pressure yourself. My goal is 2 days upper body, 2 days of core and 3 days of a 20 minute yoga (which I sort of count and strength training with all the lunges and planks).--all done at home Maybe just do what you can at home until your motivation to go to the gym comes back. No, it's not the heavy weights but it's something that will keep you in the routine and will keep your muscles in shape. I promise your motivation will come back :) Hugs to you girl.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08177308883627646456noreply@blogger.com
